I read the first 3 chapters and skimmed the rest of the book. I would say much of it is common sense (ok, easy for an adult to say - we have hindsight). I would recommend using it conjunction with a traditional college guide as this is organized thematically not by specific colleges.

Pretty good, generally comprehensive resource guide for LGBT students getting ready to go to college.
