Enriquez loosely structures this account of early radio broadcasting in the Philippines around Homi Bhabha's notions of mimicry and hybridity. I didn't find that aspect of the book too interesting, but there are a lot of fascinating tidbits about radio (and mass media and consumer culture) in the Philippines during the American and Japanese (World War II) colonial periods. The book also comes with a CD of recordings from that era that I haven't listened to yet.
