This author also writes as Heather Allison.

Heather MacAllister lives in Texas and is married to her high-school sweetheart. Following the instructions in How to Get a Teen-Age Boy, and What to Do with Him When You Get Him by Ellen Peck, one of her all-time favorite books, she expressed an interest in his hobby — ham radio. He challenged her — learn Morse code and get her license, and he’d take her to the senior prom. She did, and currently sports her call sign, WB5RMA, on her car license plate.

Heather became addicted to romance novels in college, yet still managed to graduate and become a music teacher. And then her sons were born. Within seven months, nine baby-sitters quit, so she took pity on the childcare industry, quit teaching, and began avoiding housework by writing during her sons’ nap time.

Heather has published over 40 books with Harlequin. Her award-winning romantic comedies have been translated into 25 languages and published in dozens of countries.

Before she was published, Heather won the Romance Writer's of America Golden Heart Award. Her published novels have been nominated for the RWA RITA award three times, and eHarlequin.com readers voted LONE STAR SANTA favorite Laugh-Out-Loud book of 2006. In addition to awards for best Harlequin Romance and best Harlequin Temptation, Romantic Times Book Reviews has twice nominated Heather for a Career Achievement Award in Series Love and Laughter.

When she's not writing, Heather spends her time collecting vintage jewelry, watching fireworks displays, and killing plants.

Four short stories that are sexy and fast to read. I enjoyed them all, but they weren't as hot as some of the Blaze line that I've read.

This was a cute ensemble of short love stories, all connected to one setting: a bridal shop. I absolutely loved it.

The couples are:

Elizabeth and William - the uptight bridal shop owner and the besotted tux store owner who happen to be business partners for the past 7 years. Cute, but not detailed.

Lia and JC - the bridal shop's assistant manager and a wandering famous musician slumming at the tux store. Also, cute, but not memorable.

Anji and Dev - an Indian couple planning to have an arranged marriage, but hoping to get intimate (mentally and physically). I bonded with this one, since I am Indian and it was highly relevant...and had great foreplay.

Cara and Austin - the confused bride and her fiance's twin brother. Has a little bit of cheating, but not too much and it was brought to the open anyhow. My personal favorite since it was both hot and very funny.

Gina and Ford - the PA and the PA's boss's fiance. Considering how little Ford actually gets to see and speak to Monica, it made sense that the PA, Gina would get Ford. I liked it for the humor more than the romance.

I really liked this book. I liked all the stories, but some where much more spectacular than the others, which is why i rated this 4 stars. Honestly, I think this deserves to be a full length book, because the only flaw was it's tragic length. The characterizations were quite wonderful considering its length.

This book gets a capital "S" for Spicy. From the very first pages these stories within a story were captivating and full of passion. I loved getting to know all the couples that came to get their wedding gowns at Elizabeth Gray's bridal salon.

First there's Lia the assistant and JC a pop star hiding out in the tuxedo shop next door. Their courtship really gets sparks flying.

If that's not enough there's Anji and Devak who get things smoldering through some dirty talk through the walls.

Oh and then there's Cara and Austin the bride and the groom's twin brother. It starts out as an Oopsy but ends up being and Oo La La!

Lastly there's Gina and Ford. Gina the kidnapped bride, who wasn't the bride but the bride's personal assistant.

Oh and don't forget the sparks flying between the bridal shop owner and the tuxedo shop owner!

I loved how the characters flowed well together through the story. This is a great addition to the 4 Encounters mini-series. I'll probably reread this one at some point!

Not a bad book. The stories were great and had a really good build up to the ending. I got confused a couple of times with the different stories using the same charicters. It seemed a bit abrubpt to change stories like they did but it still worked well with the book. This book was a very good read.

All the short stories in this book center around the Elizabeth Gray Bridal salon...its employees, owners, customers, etc, as well as the neighboring tuxedo shop. Important to note that the dressing rooms of each shop are right next to each other and the walls are very thin...so conversations can be had between the walls.

Unstrung - 3/5 - Lia is the assistant manager who wants to someday be a partner. She gets a surprise when she learns that some guy, J.C. is sleeping in the tuxedo shop fitting room and distracting her from her work. He’s a guitar playing bum, from what she can tell, and he exudes charm and a devil-may-care attitude, which is definitely not for her motivated personality. And yet, she’s not above a little fling...not like anything would come of it, right? Cute story, as I suspect most of these will be. Interesting that I didn’t love J.C.’s casual, yet smug attitude about winning over Lia, yet it’s she who ends up taking the casual attitude towards their affair and worrying him that she won’t commit. Even more interesting since J.C. is actually Jordan Christian, famous country music star who has to go back to Nashville and back on tour. These two end with a happy for now kind of ending, where he goes back on tour but he wants to keep coming back and staying in touch with her so he can keep falling in love with her. She seems quite confident that he’ll be faithful and that he’s a good bet...and everything we learn about him seems to indicate it, but I am ever skeptical of musicians.

Unveiled - 2/5 - Anji and Dev are going through with an arranged marriage, as is typical of their status in their Indian culture. Both are doctors with tough schedules and circumstances of their jobs and expectations of their family means that weeks after the engagement, they’re still complete strangers. Up til now, both have sort of seen this as an abstract, but now Dev is starting to realize he wants to marry Anji, not just get married...and Anji is discovering her sexuality in relation to Dev. This was honestly way too short to deliver on its promised potential, which made me enjoy it so much less. We don’t get to see them fall in love, we get a moment of them discovering a little bit of intimacy together as they both realize this arranged marriage is perfect for them and then fast forward 3 weeks later and they’re married and starting their honeymoon and in love. Not to mention the slight grating on my feminist nerves as Dev loves the fact that his wife comes to him untouched but he doesn’t in the least regret coming to her with plenty of experience. And also…”greasing the hinges of her portal of love?” Ew.

Uninhibited - 3/5 - Cara Brantley is getting married to Dallas Varnell...who has an identical twin, Austin. She has a history with both of them, but it’s Dallas that she reconnected with, started dating and who proposed, which she accepted rather precipitously. But now Cara is uncertain about her future with Dallas, even as she’s picking out her wedding dress. She wonders if Austin isn’t a better choice. This had something of a love triangle, which is made ten times worse by having the two men be identical twin brothers. For some reason, it squicks me out when a woman goes from a sexual relationship with one brother to a sexual relationship with the other immediately after (even if they are married). I can handle brothers in a menage story or brothers after many years...but going from one to the other just doesn’t sit well with me. Don’t know why. I did like this one more than the one before it though. Cara and Austin have a bit more history, so it didn’t feel out of the blue that Austin loved Cara...but still Cara falls in love with Austin off page, because she’s not really in love with him during the main story.

Unbridaled - 3/5 - Gina is an assistant to Monica, who is engaged to Ford. Gina has been caught in the middle of their engagement and has basically been keeping their relationship going by covering for the both of them when one of them slips up. She knows they aren’t meant to be together and partly because Gina is in love with Ford. In a desperate attempt to get Monica alone, he kidnaps the woman who is trying on wedding dresses at the bridal salon...except it’s Gina, not Monica. Kidnapping Gina makes Ford see what he’s been missing all this time. Kinda cute - I loved Gina and the desperate lengths she has to go to in her job. It’s highly amusing that, in trying to cover for Monica and Ford, she would at times respond to her own emails! Ford’s turn around into “being in love with Gina” felt abrupt and way too soon from supposedly being in a relationship with Monica. Of course, he realizes he’d been communicating with Gina all along, so he must love her, but it felt way too fast. Also absolutely no epilogue here, so no idea if Gina keeps working for Monica now that she’s slept with Ford or what happens there. I mean...Ford still works and travels a lot too, and frequently canceled on Gina, so he’s not looking like a good relationship prospect. That was never resolved or even talked about.

DNF at 15% Don't know how this one ended up in my "unread" Kindle folder. Was wondering why the romantic pairing shifted after the intro to a completely different couple; checked out Goodreads and discovered the book is actually four short stories, connected by the fact that all are set in the same Texas bridal shop. "Texas" and "bridal shop"—not my cup of tea...

B473 Jun09. "Weddings starting with a bang!" The thin walls between a bridal shop and a tuxedo boutique assist the couples in the stories.
1. Unstrung Lia Wainright and Jordan Christian, she hears singing in the tuxedo shop dressing room, it JC singing. She spills wine on her computer as she placing an order for shades of pink bridesmaids dresses. She is surprised when she discovers he doesn't work in the tuxedo boutique.
2. Unveiled Anjali Rawat and Devak Sharma have an arranged marriage with a civil ceremony in the US and the religious ceremony in India.
3. Uninhibited. Cara Brantley is planning her wedding to Dallas Varnell and his identical twin, Austin is why she she is uncertain. She's known them both since college...
4. Unbridaled Gina Wells is engaged to Ford O'Banion, but she is so busy her personal assistant, Monica Teague, is the one planning their wedding and all the details. The last thing Monica expects is to be kidnapped in Gina's wedding dress. This was my favorite of the short stories.
One more couple realizes they belong together, so no loose ends!

This was a cute quick read. The book is made up of little scenes that take place between a bridal and tux shop. We got a bunch of different couples, from an arranged marriage, to a personal assistant taking her bosses man, to the bridal shop and tux shop owners.

The scenes were quick paced and still let you feel for the people. It was a light read with a lot of HEA's. (Of course they have HEA's its a bridal shop, duh) But this book is a great little palate cleanser in between stronger topic reads. It was fun, light...and well can make you want to get naked with someone you love.

I thought that this was a cute story. It wasn't overly steamy or anything. It had good humor, I also liked the diversity of the couples. It took me a bit to get into. I also didn't realize it was an anthology wrapped up in a story revolving around a bridal shop. It was a unique way for the author to bring the stories together.

This is my first book by this author. I will be trying her out again.

(Read as part of the One-Click June 2009:Harlequin Blaze set)

This collection of wedding-themed short stories has been my favorite of the anthology so far. All are somehow connected to the bridal shop/tux place the book started in, and I enjoyed how Beth Ann's & Bill's tale bookended the novel. The pairs all came together sweetly (and they were hot when they were together!).

There were 4 stories in this book. There was a different couple in each story. Each one was about the bride being fit for a wedding gown.

It was ok. Not overly exciting. I think the stories were too short to get much character development. But overall it wasn't bad.

Four cute short stories that were tingle-inducing but lacked substance, as most short stories do.
