I actually have the 1990 version of this book, which was published by Simpson-Stevenson Limited in London. I received it as a gift the summer of 1990 after we returned from a trip to Paris. I had only looked at the wonderful water color illustrations but hadn't read the text until now. It was very enjoyable and I went to the computer many times to find photos of the places that the author wrote about, and the people he mentioned. I learned a lot!
