If Scott Pilgrim were inspired primarily by Dungeons and Dragons rather than video games, you'd probably get something like the North World comic book series.

This is a fun mishmash of fantasy adventure gaming tropes and modern life.

If you've ever wondered what Conan the Barbarian would look like in Crocs, read this book and wonder no more.

The short tales in this volume of North World are funny and entertaining, filling in interesting details of Lars Brown's imagined world. With the frothier nature of these tidbits, the inconsistent artwork and narrative jumps from the earlier North World books is less noticeable, making this the most satisfying yet.

I really love the world building in North World and how its characters interact with this modern urban fantastical setting. This is the third volume but it functions as a standalone set of short stories. There are a few references to volumes 1-2, but it's not like one needs to have read them. It's a cool way to explore a cool world and a great afternoon read.

Great read, I liked Conrad but this volume was the best of the series, I liked the shorts and seeing the rest of the North World cast and their little adventures was pretty cool. It kept me interested and reading.

A fun collection of short stories, some involving characters from the previous North World books and some just set in the same universe.

Born in California in 1983 I now make my home in Spokane, WA, a city that most artists run away from.

I work in an office, draw comics, and would like to write and draw more.

North-World is my Plain clothes fantasy webcomic. It is published by Oni Press. I have been self-publishing my own work for several years and have recently seen several short stories published in anthologies.
