Bobby is so proud of his puppy Lucy. She's a terrific friend, and a great dog. So when a local store has a pet contest, he happily enters Lucy in it. But it turns out the pet that wins the contest may be featured on TV—with its owner! Bobby is shy. He doesn't like attention. But can he face the spotlight . . . for Lucy?
The third story of a boy and beagle's friendship is perfect for young dog lovers!
Another book that Mackenzie and I enjoyed together. I love having a series that keeps her engaged and answering some basic questions about what we've read. In this story, Bobby continues to emerge out of his "shy" shell. He enters Lucy into a Pet-O-Rama spokespet contest for the local store. Will she win? There's only one way to find out!
This book will always have a special place in my heart. I loved the story line, the conflict, and the sweet mention of all of the animals. The whole book was so wonderful. Bobby is such shy little boy, and seeing him have to face his fears is really sweet.
I can see myself rereading this book at least once a year. 10/10.
A shy young boy enters his beloved, cute dog Lucy in a spokespet contest for a national pet shop against stiff competition. A good chapter book for transitional readers about overcoming fear and shyness.
I read this story with my daughter. It didn’t seem to matter that we hadn’t read the first two books in the series. They were fun characters. My daughter especially empathized with the boy who is so shy he can hardly talk to people, as she has selective mutism.
A delightful story about a shy boy who enters his adorable pet dog Lucy in a pet contest. This chapter book (102 pages) is about a 3rd grade reading level, but can be enjoyed by younger and older children.
This is a cute book for 3rd and 4th graders. I think boys would enjoy it, too, since the main character is a boy. Would make a good book for parents to use if homeschooling their child.
