Relevance and Relationship:
This is a National Geographic Book that combines a vast amount of helpful and informative information. The maps and diagrams in this book are great and the text is very readable, which makes it a great addition to a reference collection in an elementary school.

Purpose:
This reference contains information referencing language, religion, culture, and technology of humans from many years ago to today. It also has an alphabetical, country-by-country overview that presents specific data and statistics on everything from political structure to agricultural and industrial production to ethnic, religious, and linguistic makeup. Therefore, this would be an excellent resource for students when doing research for a class project or assignment.

This book is compiled by professional geographers from across the United States.
