Gabe Maddox married Skylar James eight years ago and he hasn't seen her since. She's now been abducted and LCR is engaged to rescue her and Gabe's point man for the operation.

We finally get the story behind Gabe's marriage, which slowly unfolds throughout most of the book. I enjoyed the flashback device used to relate the details, sometimes from each of their points of view. The kidnappers are heinous and, as is typical of this series, the experiences are really tough, gritty and frightening. I

The author couldn't possibly make it more clear what she thinks of her hero. She puts her own thoughts into the heads of all the characters, including the hero himself. There was one scene with the guy's boss. During the scene, which is from Bossy Boy's POV, Bossy Boy has to throw in a mental insult about the EVERY SINGLE THOUGHT that crosses his mind! And all I could think was, Wow, Christy Reece, you hate your hero that much? Because it's so painfully obvious the author is simply try ...more

I liked this one a great deal too!!

While vacationing on Kalamina Island eight years ago, young Skylar James and Gabe Maddox met and quickly fell in love. Both of them were looking for the love and acceptance, they were able to find in each other. Skylar needing to be accepted for who she is, and not the celebrity face the world knows. Gabe who has suffered a lot of rejection, stemming from an accident that took the lives of people that he loved just needs acceptance. Within a very short time of

I became a fan of Christy Reece when I discovered her first trilogy last year featuring the men and women of The Last Chance Rescue organization.

I had high hopes for Reece's latest entry, but have to admit to being disappointed.

No Chance is billed as a romantic suspense, but the suspense portion never had me thinking Oh My God I can't put this book down; or anxious to turn to the next page or make me want to stay up all night reading. As for the romance, the relationship between Skyla

I like Ms. Reece’s Last Chance Rescue books.

That said, I had issues with this particular book.

First one is that Gabe and Skylar didn’t talk to each other!

The fourth book in the Last Chance Rescue series by Christy Reece. Loved it. It had the right balance that I look for in Romantic Suspense. My only regret is that I didn't wait to read it until I had the entire series because now I have to wait :(

3.5 stars I have a bit of a love-hate relationship with Christy Reece. She is no doubt an excellent writer. Her stories are gritty and a little scary. Her characters seem the same on the surface, but when you scratch the surface they're all different. Broken and vulnerable. I want to get to know them. I want them to succeed. I want the bad guy to get caught. I get caught up and can't book the books down.

But her bad guys are so very bad. Her somewhat broken characters are so very broken. They've

Great book, but geez - CR writes some really uncomfortable torture/rape scenes. She doesn't go into details exactly, but she puts these depraved thoughts into your head. For me, it sometimes was a bit hard to get back into the romance after one of those scenarios.

I did love Gabe. He's always been portrayed as a loner-type, quiet and gruff. But we get to see some of his vulnerability here, especially in terms of his fears. He's not exactly brought to his knees by Skylar, his estranged wife, but h

I'm really pleased to have found this author and her Last Chance Rescue series. If you enjoy top quality romantic suspense, this is definitely a series worth your time.

As much as I'm not a fan of the 'big misunderstanding', this one was really well done and actually had substance. It was heartbreaking to think of the time Skye and Gabe lost, particularly given the brilliant portrayal by the author of their reluctant longing for each other.

The suspense element was extremely strong, too, which I'v

Christy Reece delivers another fantastic romantic suspense.

Christy Reece is one of my favourite romantic suspense writers. She has created a fictional security agency, and manages to incorporate the perfect balance of action and romance into her stories. I have been so looking forward to Gabe's story - he is a tragically troubled character who needed his own happy ending, and this was just what I wanted for him. His relationship with Skylar was beautiful and exactly what I had hoped for.

Fantastic romantic suspense story.

I’ve loved everything I’ve read by this writer so far - starting with the fantastic Rescue Me, and through the second trilogy. This is great romantic suspense - the suspense part of the story actually matters; I can’t stand it when a book is marketed as romantic suspense just to turn out to be another romance story.

Gabe and Skylar are an incredible couple, and I’m so happy Gabe got a story because he was a character who desperately needed to be happy. Christy Re
Gabe's story was one I surely wanted to read, but I found it more drawn out and the suspense a bit more lukewarm than I expected. Maybe it was just my mood rather than the book's problem. I will eventually move on to the next book, since I have copies of all in paperback now.

Perhaps this was a small blip my enjoyment of this series. Last Chance Rescue stories concern such intensely fierce circumstances that the damaged heroes (and/or heroines) can have issues that sometimes make them stupid whe

Gabe is now among my top 10 of fictional men I would want to marry in my fictional life. I am already blessed with an amazing husband/father of my children, but every stay @ home mom needs a fictional escape :0)Another AMAZING Reece story, I had to finish in just under 48 hours. Reece is my kind of romantic. This is a must read series. LOVE, LOVE, LOVED it! For me Gabe and Noah are probably tied for the sexiest, most amazing heroic characters in Reece's Last Chance Rescue books.

I am enjoying this series immensely. I finished the first trilogy and just wanted to move right on to the second trilogy. So I did. I really liked this book. It kept me reading, page after page, wanting to know how it would all end up.

Series Note:
Fourth book in Reece's “Last Chance Rescue” series about an independent agency that rescues victims in need of help. Honestly, it's tough to say if you need to read this series in order. I'd say yes because I'm a big believer in reading series in order

So as I continue on my learning curve with romance novels I was introduced to No Chance (something I hear a lot usually after asking for a date) but rather than another knockback this book by Christy Reece is a suspense romance. I hear you ask what is suspense romance well it is a romance with a thriller thrown in. If this were a movie it would be one where the two central characters are at like bunnies every so often and the rest of the time blood is being spilt and a mystery uncovered.

Not a WOW book but still a good read,Gabe-Skye loved each other but cause of manipulations, lies, deceits from Skye's father adding the lack of trust and insecurities of Gabe and Skye hiding some facts from Gabe lead to their seperation but it does'nt ends there Skye was told Gabe committed suicide and she is mourning Gabe for past 8 years and Gabe was being told Skye does'nt wants marriage and does'nt loves him,Gabe has decided its time to move to get divorced and move on

I really liked this one! I enjoy romantic suspence books, but occasionally I find some authors tip the scale too much in favor of romance and therefore it lacks in suspense. This is not the case with 'No Chance'. Reece as with all her books in the LCR (Last Chance Rescue series) managed NOT to tip the scale to heavily in either direction of romance or suspense, but instead draws a fine balance between both catagories.

Each book in this series focuses and tells the story of an LCR operative. With
Wow! This is my first read by Christy Reece, and I wasn't disappointed. The plot was outstanding and there was not one moment of down-time. No dull and dragging self-examination conversations. The bad guys are so evil they made my stomach churn!

The blurb on the back of the book does not do this book justice.
The heroine, Skylar "Skye" James knows what she wants and doesn't let anyone or anything stand in her way. Likewise, the hero, Gabriel "Gabe" Maddox, has demons of his own that he has to con

Wow!! Loved it!!

The tension between the main characters in this book was incredible. Both were betrayed by those they loved on an unthinkable level but they still battled. Another cracking read and I'm right now downloading the next. Read in sequence to get the best experience.....its well worth it! I promise!!!

Fourth in the Last Chance Rescue romantic suspense series. The couple focus is on Gabe Maddox and Skylar James.

My Take
Interesting blend of the common drama with the rich girl's parents appalled at her choice and the unexpected twist of how he returns to her life. Reece incorporates some flashbacks throughout the story as she takes Gabe and Skye back to those initial idyllic days and provides us with their memories of the time.

I think it was just stupid for Skye to fly all the way to NYC to tell

Week of Christy Reece at

This has been such a difficult week for me, not the reading has been exciting, at the seat of my pants kind of suspense and steamy, sexy love scenes between kick-ass females and the men who love them. NO, the difficult part has been deciding which on has been my favorite so far...too many men, so little of me..hummmmm....but for some reason, Gabe Maddox has had my eye on him since the first or second book when he showed up all broody and ado

No Chance, the 4th book in the Last chance rescue series; Skylar James fell in love with a scrawny Gabe Maddox and got married 8 years ago but unfortunately there’s a secret she’s hiding where she’s actually a model and daughter of a tycoon, Jeremiah James. The story progressed where she broke the news to her father on her marriage but did not get the supposed support she wanted and that’s where the story took a turn; Dad sabotaging the two lovebird’s relationship and Gabe Maddox left Skylar Jam ...more

What I Loved: I have said it before and I will say it again these LCR stories are darn near heartbreaking every time! What the company does and how Christy does not shy away from dealing with recovery is fantastic. The romance at the center of this piece, Skylar and Gabe, was different t

I am just loving this series so much and if I may say so, I am loving it as much as Karen Rose's books. Christy Reece is a new author I have just started with and boy, am truly glad my friend Suzanne found this gem.

I will post a short review as I don't really want to say too much about each story. You will have to just read them yourself.

This one didn't grip me as much as the previous three, but it was still quite good. This is Gabe's story and we finally find out about the mystery woman he married eight years ago.

Eight years ago, a young Skylar and Gabe met while on vacation, they fell in love and got married. What Skylar never got a chance to mention to her husband was that she was a famous model. After telling her parents about her secret nuptials, her father is less than pleased and secretly visits his new son-in-law, determ

No Chance by Christy Reece is a romantic suspense that brings two young former lovers back together. Skylar James finds herself in danger like she has never known after being kidnapped while trying to save a friend. Enter Gabe Maddox into the picture: former estranged lover hired to find Skylar and bring her back home safely. Gabe and Skylar will both have to put the past to rest before they can truly find happiness again.

I can see I started this book on 5/19. It was a goofy place to jump in on this series but, well - that happens sometimes. Anyway - about three weeks later and I'm reading the last of the six books. Individual ratings to follow.

In summary I recommend the author and the books. I will say that there are aspect of the writing that detracted from the story for me as a reader. I detest repetition in a s
