Henry is impatient. Standing or sitting still is very hard for him. If he doesn't learn this skill, he won't be able to feed himself. That isn't a problem while he is in his nest because his parents bring fish to their little ones. However, it is a problem to his brother and sister who hate his hopping around and squawking.

I gave the book 4 stars because I appreciate how the author added teaching activities at the end of the book that correspond with the book! HOW FABULOUS! Activities include before/after, LA, Science, MAth, Geography, Life Lessons, and Interactive Quizzes! What is Henry so impatient about? Well, he can't seem to stand still long enough to catch a fish in the water. He loses patience and pounces too soon, thereby missing his lunch. Will he ever learn? Will he ever eat?? Fortunately, the King of the herons gives him a few pointers. A section at the end of the book gives some great blue heron facts and discussion questions. Children who live around the habitat of these birds should enjoy reading about them. Recommended.
