Measuring about 5.5" x 4.5", this board book can be grasped by babies as young as 9 months. Elmo and his friends play a "Elmo Says..." version of Simon Says. Activities such as touching your nose, driving a car, and pretending to sleep are suggested. The actions are simple and can be very effective when a parent helps their child do each action. The pictures are bright and colorful, attracting even babies' attention. Depicted in primary colors against a solid yellow background, bright Sesame Street characters with bulging eyes dominate the perspective of each page. This book can help build early literacy skills like print awareness as well as helping teach children how to follow directions and even how to find their nose! A fun, active read that little ones will return to again and again. Highly recommended for public libraries.

My Review: This is a fun book, definitely not good for bedtime but a great after nap, get up and move book. It is a good introduction to the classic Simon Says game using familiar characters. Munchkin enjoyed it but didn't quite get the point of it, but I am sure with a few more times of reading and playing he will really enjoy it.

This is the first Elmo book we bought for our daughter. She’s loved it so much that the pages are worn out. I love the way she follows along and does what Elmo says to do. She often goes right to her favorite page “Elmo says eat pretend cake.” And she smacks her lips as if she’s eating. So cute.

My daughter likes this book but doesn't quite grasp the concept of "Elmo says..." vs "Elmo didn't say Elmo says".

Not sure if my son understands "Elmo says..." but he likes this book and many of the words are common for language learners. He also really likes ending by wavering bye bye.
