Here is the most inspirational book I have read all year. Whether you or a teacher, parent, or person who is simply concerned for the world around you this is a must read. You will learn from it and your children will learn from it. My head is spinning with all the new books and schools I need to research. Where do I start? I will start small and that will be okay.

Recommends it for: educators looking for inspiration to begin or sustain an eco-literate practice
The book is especially strong on examples of schools that are implementing sustainable curricula. The two main components of the book are ecolitracy in theory, and examples in practice. The two aspects work back and forth in each chapter. For schools actively working towards "going green," Smart By Nature may provide inspiration. You're not alone!
