I enjoyed this Beverly Barton book, but it was not one of my favorites by her. After seeing Quinn Cortez turn up in some of the other books with Griffin Powell (I read this one out of order), I was looking forward to his story. I was a bit disappointed in Quinn as a hero as he turned out to be such a player with women, but I enjoyed Annabelle Vanderley as a heroine and felt better about Quinn by the end of the book.

Quinn Cortez is a suspect when his lover turns up dead. Her cousin, Annabelle Van

I really enjoyed the plot and the characters as well. First book by this author but I'll try to read more.

I enjoyed this book quite a bit. Mostly for the suspense plot than for the romance or the characters.

The summary/description on the book page gives a good overview of the book so I won't bother to write another summary.

At times during this book, Quinn isn't exactly my favorite character. Not that I disliked him. But he's a total man-whore player and it's a bit of a turn-off when the hero is someone who admits he just likes to fuck women whenever, wherever he can. During the book, he is even invo

When a killer doesn't want to get caught... there's only one way to eliminate his victims... softly...

This is how the back cover describes this novel, and I have to say that it was quite ingenious. The book was quite well written, one of those books that you have to read to the end to find out what happened. The doubts the author placed in the reader's mind was impressive. There were constant hints that Quinn had murdered the women. And then there was also Jace and Aaron who could have committed

Untungnya porsi romance ga terlal

Killing Her Softly is exactly what I expected Beverly Barton to come out with. A mystery that keeps you guessing until the end, a beautiful plot, and a satisfying romance between two of the main characters. Barton is a fabulous writer and can tie a murder plot around anything.

Yeah, the romance was good, if not sudden. One minute, they're trying to decide if they trust each other and the next...you can figure that out. It was good, but it wasn't my favorite Barton book.

The main character, Quinn, is a character from the Cherokee Pointe trilogy. FYI

Tidak sesuai ekspektasi. The way the serial killer kill his victims doesnt give me any special feeling, tidak membuat saya menahan napas atau tercekat, seperti novel beverly lain yg saya baca.

To be honest, I'm a huge big fan to suspense thriller genre book. I've been in love since I was a kid. And never never once I'll flip through the ending of the book and justify my answer to the mystery. But this book actually make me flip to the last 2nd chapter. Yes, I've suspected that particular person. And thank you, I'm right. I did not guess who's the culprit until nearly the middle of the book I think. Yes, this book does hook me to the end.

The characters are.. Disturbed. And you may coun

Fantastic Thriller

Having read so many of Beverly Barton's books, I assumed I had read this one. But, I hadn't.....and found this thriller to be one of her best. Who is the serial killer? A Real Page Turner that will keep you guessing until the last page.

A very well written book. Excellent pacing, nice dialogue, intriguing characters and plenty of suspense. Barton has a knack for keeping the reader guessing every step of the way, and I love trying to figure out her endings along the way. Every time I thought I had this one figured out, I changed my mind in the next chapter.
I wasn't completely sold on Quinn, but I really liked Annabelle. Having already read the "Dead By" series, it was fun to see the first glimpses of Griffin Powell. A "note to

Bagian awal dan akhirnya seru, walau endingnya terasa dipaksa selesai terlalu cepat. Mungkin karena bagian tengahnya udah panjaaaang banget. Untung sih narasinya enak dibaca jadi gak gitu ngebosenin.

Editingnya kurang rapih. Ada beberapa kesalahan penulisa

Wasn't very keen. It sounded great on paper but it seemed to have a lot of like Mills & Boon style writings in it which I found very offputting. When I looked Beverly Barton up I see she did write a lot in those romance series so that's probably why.
The premise was good-women who all had relationships with one particular lawyer are all being murdered yet he has holes in his memory at the times each were killed. One of the relations of his latest murdered girlfriend believes in his innocence

I was really shocked at the end of the book haha I did NOT expect what happened happen haha (no spoilers:3) it is really hard to describe how I felt about this book. It was just truly amazing. I guess this is really a 3.5 star rating. I really like Barton's books. I guessed the whodunnit here, but I loved how she kept all the characters guessing if Quinn was really guilty of the crimes.

The main thing I didn't quite like was that Annabelle seemed so quick to jump on Quinn's bandwagon. She knew what she wanted and went for it. But her undying immediate faith in Quinn's innocence gave me pause. I understood that she recognized her cousin's faults, but still thought she should wonder abou

This is book 1 in the Griffin Powell series. It is very good and kept me turning pages. There was always something going on and kept me wondering how they were going to figure out who the killer was. Just about the time I thought I knew who the killer was another clue was dropped and I had to change my mind.

I am now looking for the next book in the series. I am for sure hooked on this author.

Loved this one! Didn't particularly like Quinn at first, he was practically a male slut... but he never lied to any of his women... so points to him.
Loved Quinn and Annabelle as a couple.
Loved the storyline... though I wonder what happened with Chad in the end??
I'm loving this series... we saw much more of Griffin Powell this time, and I can't wait for his happy ending.

This is a story about a bad boy got the good girl. It took a lot of effort though, coz the bad boy accused for murdering her cousin. And its not the end or beginning of the murders. I think the bad boy, Quinn Cortez, is too good to be true (even in a fiction!). a handsome, rich criminal lawyer, had everything but love. sigh! I'm like reading a HQ than a thriller.

An interesting plot in this romantic suspense that started out okay but soon started to drag expounding on hero being a playboy then wondering who done it which I could of told them halfway in and it was too casual about sex. Attorney Quinn is suspect in murder of his lover who is Annabelle's cousin and she wants justice.

This is not a police or detective procedural, but rather romantic mystery with plenty hormone. It seems all characters in this book are horny. I didn't find the lead character Quinn is a believable guy. If he is a really good criminal lawyer, why he doesn't realize all the sign of setups by someone very close to him?

I had anticipated reading this book. The synopsis was just the type of story I love. I just knew this was going to be like The Murder Game -- suspenseful and a page turner. I was so disapointed. Again, Barton put way too much into the heroine and not nearly enough into the hero.
