Information is organized in an interesting way. I worked through this book from front to back picking & choosing places to go before I realized that there is a state-by-state index in the back. I missed having maps or diagrams to show whereabouts in the state each park was located. I found the "rules for dogs in 100 of the most popular national park service lands...." in the back of the book very useful.

Excellent, well written book packed full of information about vacation with your dog. The author doesn't merely list the sites to see, he discusses in great detail in each entry the history behind the place. Tips on the terrain and whether places are dog friendly or not is included in this book. There are plenty of ideas close to your home or far away you can go on to entertain both you and your fur companion.
