Introduction:
From the icy plains of HowlStrom, where the winter's embrace is as fierce as the heart of an alpha, I, Kiba Snowpaw, bring forth my thoughts on a tale that has resonated with the very essence of my being. As the ancient ice magic flows within me, so too does the passion for a story well-told.

Basic Plot Summary:
The tale unfolds in the aftermath of a grand tournament, revealing a startling truth: Rob is not the sole human in Olimero. As the East's organized forces rally to quash the perceived threat that Rob represents, a greater game unfolds above, where gods play their intricate games. Rob stands on the precipice, ready to step onto a new battlefield, challenging all who dare oppose him.

Analysis/Evaluation:
David Burke masterfully weaves a narrative that delves deep into the intricacies of power, politics, and personal growth. The stakes are raised with each revelation, pushing Rob to evolve and adapt in a world that constantly challenges his existence.

Characters:
Rob, the central figure, is a beacon of strength and determination. His evolution from a mere human to a force to be reckoned with is palpable. The supporting cast, each with their unique motivations and backgrounds, adds layers of complexity to the narrative, making Olimero a world rich in character depth.

Structure:
The pacing is impeccable, with each chapter building upon the previous, leading to a crescendo that promises an epic showdown. The balance between action, introspection, and world-building ensures that the reader is engaged throughout.

Impact:
The revelation of Rob's uniqueness in Olimero and the impending clash with the gods adds a sense of urgency and anticipation. The stakes have never been higher, and the outcome remains uncertain, keeping the reader on the edge of their seat.

Hook and Thesis:
The discovery of other humans in Olimero and the looming threat from the East serves as the central hook. Rob's journey, both internal and external, forms the core thesis of the narrative.

Praise and Critique:
Burke's storytelling prowess shines through, with a well-crafted plot and multi-dimensional characters. The world of Olimero is vividly depicted, making it easy for readers to immerse themselves. However, some readers have pointed out grammatical errors, especially towards the end, which slightly mar the reading experience.

Evaluation:
Despite minor flaws, "The Old East" stands as a testament to Burke's ability to craft a compelling narrative. The blend of action, intrigue, and character development makes it a must-read for fans of the fantasy genre.

Comparison:
While many tales delve into the realm of gods and mortals, "The Old East" stands out with its unique blend of character-driven narrative and high-stakes action. It can be compared to other epic fantasy tales but holds its own with its distinct flavor.

Conclusion:
"The Old East: Four Laws, Book 7" is a masterful continuation of a saga that promises to leave a lasting impact on its readers. As the winds of HowlStrom howl in unison with my spirit, I, Kiba Snowpaw, urge all seekers of epic tales to embark on this journey with Rob and witness a story that will echo through the ages.

It got cringy

Let me start off and say that I liked the premise of the story from the beginning and originally liked the characters but as these books have continued things got repetitive and cringe at moments.

For one thing, all of Robs wives are repeatedly singing his praises and saying he loves them or another wife every time they open their mouths. It was to the point I skipped portions because it was gonna be another spiel. Certain parts came off as a high schoolers idea of what devoted wives would say about him and got annoying very quick.

Rob as a character also got annoying, this demenor of a bad @$$ guy that doesnt take crap from anyone and will put them down if they mess with him or his wife felt overplayed. For example, Mursha the Orc didn't like a comment that her father made and Rob goes to have a civil talk with him but buy the end of the first sentence says he would beat him down if he talks like that with his wife...come on man. There are ways you can be manly without resorting to violence every moment, especially with your wife's FATHER. Its this bravado that seemed much. Indomitable doesn't mean being a D and thats what he turned into after evolving.

I completely get that this is a male fantasy and certain things or the way they are but Rob seems to always get out of a situation and make it in top with hardly any consequences and only victories. He constantly messes with things that are outside of his knowledge that ends up effecting him or his wives. Then in those moments he gets an "Ah Ha" moment and boom problem solved out of no where..just because and with no knowledge if it would work. Its a constant thing through the books.

Like I said, I liked the story and the direction its heading but I'm cringing at the interactions between Rob, his wives and the way he deals with others.

Disappointed in this book for many reasons

This book was boring and very cringy. Rob the MC of this story is terrible in this book more so than in the last one. He has all these powers and God like stats yet procrastination is his greatest power. Two cities keep attacking his family yet instead of dealing with them this book is all about adding wives and having babies. The only real action was minimal and at the end of the book another major power is coming for them and Rob will ignore it too.

Then we have the radiculous amount of abilities this character has. Its just too much, and that makes the book bad. Then the typical wrong word and spelling errors this author does it's more than the usual.

I was really enjoying this tale until the last two books just made this story unbearably bad. There is no real challenge and the hero ignores the real enemies he has for no good reason. Just like the house that fell on the workers was sabotaged. Rob followed the trace of magic to the tavern then his wife was having a baby so he left doing high by about the sabotage. To make it even worse he does nothing about it for the rest of the book. Its irritating to readers to leave things undone in the story. This author can write better than this. Its unfortunate this story went this way because its not enjoyable anymore. Especially since the main character is just annoying for so many reasons that I would not care to read anymore of this series.

Fairly good, once I remembered where I was at

**Don,t panic over the book's disorientating start. NO you didn't miss anything**
This audiobook just came out 9/2023. even though the last book, Back to Yonder was only released 4 month ago, most of us have gone through quite a few audiobooks since then. So when this book starts in the middle of a battle, and I can't remember who any of these people are by name alone, I thought I'd missed an entire book or something.
After I went back and reread the end of Back to Yonder, and confirmed that was really was the last book before this one, I started it again and found out that Old East just jumps ahead my four months.
Now I'm wondering if there is a term that is the opposite of a cliffhanger, where the story starts like you jumped in half way through. There must be a term for that but I don't know it.
Anyway, This book obviously jumps right in at full speed more or less where the last one left off and if you liked them all up till now, then you will like this one just fine.
I'd almost call this one "Same old-Same old East" but there will be some changes in this book that steer things in a new direction.
Other than that this is a remarkably consistent addition to the story.

Still going strong as the next book is the conclusion of the series

Spoiler: The saga continues as Rob, the MC becomes even more OP blending physical, mental and spiritual cultivation. Rob adds a couple of wives to his harem, many of whom also give birth before he takes on the fairy queen. Thats good news because war between the gods of Olmera is brewing as Old Scratch's nefarious plans come to fruition. He has created a necromancer vassal to do his bidding and formed an undead army to raise a draconic-litch. Thats pretty scary, but we still dont know his end-game yet.

Meanwhile, Sativa is missing, presumed kia... but maybe not. Things are coming to a head as all the humans on Olmera are coming out of the woodwork, no matter be they friend or foe.

The next book is scheduled to be the conclusion. Its been a very interesting cultivation saga. One last thing, l love the cover graphics as they are outstanding.

a fantasy story continues

I really like these fantasy cultivation/adventure. the characters are well written and interesting and I like the way they interact with each other. there's lots of action and things that make you think and they're also a little bit of romance love and a little bit of spicy scenes here and there. for me the only thing I found off putting a little bit was the word spellings were one or two or three words were misspelled which made me stop and had to reread to make sure I was reading correctly. other than that it's a fantastic story and I'm looking forward towards the next book.

Book 7 builds the tension

Alternate universe, magic, nonhumans, GameLit, cultivator, harem adult situations

Rob Case continues to meets the trials as Sheriff of Yonderton, while Old Scratch pulls a fast one and sets in motion a plan to take everything.

Case is OP at this stage, yet the tension in the story remains credible. Well edited until the last 15%; it's like deadlines loomed and the final bit didn't get as much attention. Still, I'm in for the conclusion. And despite the ending, from Amazon's pre-sales adverts, I think the title of book 8 is changed already. Mostly fun and engaging.

A good, if shaky continuation

As Rob gets more OP it's hard to throw things at him, but things have set up nicely to give a run for his money in the next installment.

I had to mark it a little low this time because the grammatical errors got progressively worse as the book neared the end, like the editor gave up or whoever he had checking for that checked out. Very disappointing Burke's books are normally while not perfect, at least much better.

Still, over all very nice. Smut was still fairly solid. A nice twist at the end as well. Well be nice to get to the next in the series.

The standard is kept.

The book is great and the pacing seems almost perfectly fluid and realistic. Quite a few grammatical errors in this one, when compared to the rest of the series' debuts. But as I said, the standard is kept. The setup for Rob and the next book is clearly planned out within the title, even if it does seem as though it's rushed. The author has an ending in mind. And it also makes me sad that this is the penultimate addition to the series. Nevertheless, well done. I hope the next book delivers well...but that's a problem for future Rob.

4.5 stars. Things are ramping up, and I can certainly see Rob's reluctance to take on more wives after he reaches 8 (I think that's where this one ends up) with a seemingly inexhaustible roster of hopeful candidates in the wings.

Can't say a lot without spoilers, but we're nearing endgame on this series. The books have been at least consistent if not improving throughout, so I figure this story has 1 or 2 more good books in it.

Gettin' good, but...

Plots and counter plots abound, even as Rob grows stronger while also getting closer with his harem. Along the way, he even manages to add a few more!
The story just keeps getting better and better!
But somewhere around the last three chapters, typos start getting really bad, and sometimes, the author forgets that punctuation is a thing. That's the only reason I gave this 4 stars, instead of 5.

A really good read!

If you've been following this series from the start, then you'll enjoy this series, and if you haven't started reading this series yet, you should!

With Rob settling back home with his wives and family, dealing with problems old and new, a new threat has been rising and even the gods look to put their squabbles aside for what is coming.

And with a shocking twist and a mysterious yet familiar character appearance, I'm eager for the next book!

Not bad - Needs Some Edits

Not bad, I’ve generally enjoyed this series, but it does seem like David rushed this one at the end due to the number of editing mistakes/typos that cropped up through out. These didn’t significantly detract from the story, but did become increasingly annoying as they became more and more prevalent towards the end.

Would rate it higher if I could

This book series started out a bit rough for me in the first 3 books (suicidally reckless mc with more luck then everyone in the world combined) but gets better and better. This book is just amazing, the build up for what is to come is great, the spicy scenes are great, and the pacing is great

Another great entry, but the layout needs work

Enjoying the series and the continued evolution of the characters, but the continuing trend of poor editing in the later 3rd of the book is becoming increasingly distracting. Spelling, name swapping, grammar, and poor punctuation.
Still can't wait for the next one!

It gets pretty tiring, all the times Rob has to console his insecure women. Like all the time.

Also, he can go into full doppelganger mode to dig a fucking trench or whatever, but doesn't bother while fighting the Fairy Queen? He could literally turn into 44 Robs and just work her ass over instead of just playing around and almost getting himself and his wives killed over it.

Rob is growing in strength every day, and as such, be scares the gods of Olimero. Not only that, but he has children to protect.
On the other side of the world, the devil, known as Old Scratch has given an Olimeran the ability of necromancy.
Oh, and he has injured Sativia.
Now, Rob has to defend this world, his town, and his family.

great

A great continuation to the series with a lot of character and plot development. It’s fun to see the growth of both the relationships between characters as well as the characters overall. Looking forward to the next (final?) one.

Fun times in the new world!

I always enjoy it when humans are underestimated by other races and get their butts whipped. It's good to see humans rising above the problems gods put in their way. Can't wait for the next book!

Excellent series continues

This fun series continues to follow Rob on his new life, maybe not quite so new anymore. It is still fun to see Rob and his family grow in every sense of the word.
I'm looking forward to the conclusion of the series in the next book.

Further down the OP rathole
One highlight getting Josephine to her destiny, fighting in same tournament her father was once champion of, and even that has to be overshadowed by more demonstrations of how OP the MC has gotten.

Not worth a more detailed writeup.
