She'd been told her fiancé died in a military training accident, but Gina Santino's gut told her otherwise. Still, she never imagined his killers would come after her. Now she is dodging bullets and running for her own life, not sure who to trust. Her fiancé had left specific instructions for her to contact fellow U.S. Army Ranger Ian Masterson should anything happen to him. But how could she trust a man who abandoned his team years ago? With no other choice, Gina must place her life in his hands in order to stay alive long enough to find the truth.

Gina Santino's fiancé, Army Ranger Mario Anthony, has died in a military traning accident - at least, that's what Gina has been told. Mario told her if anything ever happened to him, and then weird things started happening to her, to go to Ian Masterson.
Having people try to kill her twice - that's definitely weird in Gina's book! (Yeah, would be in mine too!) So Gina calls Ian.
Only Gina isn't sure she can trust Ian, even though Mario has said to go to him - didn't Ian abandon the team?
Mario knows the real reason Ian left - because Ian's in love with Gina too!
As Mario closed in on his investigation, he knew he could die, that the mess would end up in Gina's lap, and that she would need Ian to help her not only sort out the clues he's left behind, but also protect her from the danger chasing and closing in around her.
I loved this very fast paced, action filled story, my favourite of the series so far.
As for Ian - what integrity! My only question for Gina is Why did you get engaged to a guy who didn't love the Lord?
Although two books precede this one, featuring Gina's sister Marianna and brother Joseph, and where we first meet Gina, you don't need to have read them before this one.
This was my favourite of the series. The suspense plot was intriguing and there was so many suspects I frequently questioned of my suspicions were right.
The love plot was also one of the better ones for me and it was more of a side plot to the suspense which I prefer.
This 3rd book's story line was okay. I liked the action in this story. I liked Gina's character. I liked Ian's character. I liked how Ian protected Gina. I liked the ending. Out of all the books in this series I liked this one the most.
Nonstop action packed and plot twists that will keep you guessing until the end. Gina’s fiance is killed in a training accident; he always told her to call Ian if she was in trouble. This was a sweet and thrilling story, but for the length of the story there were just too many mistakes in continuity! Ms Eason is too good of a writer for this and it's rather disappointing.
A quick read with nonstop action. Mostly listened to the audio but finished with my own copy. Overall it’s a good story but I saw the bad guy coming a long way down the track. So it’s not a new favorite, but it was still an enjoyable read.
I really enjoyed A Silent Pursuit. I have liked all of the books in the High Stakes series, but this was my favorite. I like the Santino family and in this story, Gina continued to make the family shine. Her brother Joe and his wife Katelyn from book 2 had a nice impact on this book. Even with my enjoyment of Gina, it was Ian that really made this a gem of a story. He was smart, skilled physically, and brought out the best in Gina.
I found the mystery to be strong. I loved how it got started right away and was so prevalent during the entire book. Ian was masterful at getting Gina to see the clues that allowed them draw some conclusions in the case.
I once again enjoyed listening to this on audio. The narrator has a voice that is easy to listen to and enjoy.
Note: I received a review copy of this title courtesy of the audiobook publisher, Tantor.
This story has so much non-stop action! I kept thinking to myself, "What would I do in this situation?" and I honestly didn't know! I don't think I could have kept it together as well as these characters! Being chased and pursued relentlessly would put anyone on edge! Gina is supposed to "have something" that her dead fiance' has given her but she has no idea what that is. She is led on a merry chase following very blurry clues to try to find that "thing". Her dead fiance' told her to contact Ian if something ever happened to him so she does. Ian was in his unit in the military. Between Ian and Gina, they have to figure out what was worth killing over. I loved both Ian and Gina. Fantastic book!
This story was okay. It was never explained why these men thought Gina had what they were looking for and I thought it was odd that they thought she did. The whole thing was unbelievable.
Ian was suppose to be so smart and yet he was trusting men that he wasn't sure about. He should have called me because I knew right away who the leader of the pack was.
I've read other books by this author and have enjoyed her so this series was a bit of a disappointment.
An Army ranger falls in love with his dead friend fiancee.
Enjoyed being with this author again. Ian and Gina story was exciting from start to finish. Gina and Ian were on the run from somebody close to Ian. But he didn't know it. But Mario did and they didn't know until the end. So happy to see Joseph and Caitlyn again. Happy that Gina found love again with Mario friend. Will read more by this author.
Did I suspect the culprit? Not really, but I couldn't think of anybody else who could have pulled Mario towards his death. When Gina is attacked and needs to go on the run, she is given instructions to call for help from Ian. I have seen this author's books promoted so often that I finally read this book I bought in August. She had me so wrapped up in the pages that I will have to add more to my diary. A book well-written.
A Silent Pursuit is just what you expect when you select a story by Lynette Eason … excitement, suspense, action, romance … in perfect combination to keep you turning pages until you finish. That her characters trust God to be there for them is the bonus. Thank you, Ms. Eason for a very entertaining afternoon.
Once again, Lynette Eason has done it. This book was as good as the first two. I loved how they connected with previous characters and just enough explanation to tie them together without compromising the uniqueness of the storyline. I would definitely recommend it.
Gina Santino's husband has died in a military training incident, but when people start following her, she doesn't believe it. Her husband's friend, Ian, comes to see her and ends up helping her. Can they figure out what is going on?
Gina Santino's was told her fiance died in a military training accident. He had left her specific instructions to contact a fellow US Army Ranger Ian Masterson if anything were to happen to him. The 2 of them try to figure out what happened and along the way they fall in love.
This book was the best of the series. I read it book way into the morning until I finally finished it. I love suspenseful books. This book sure kept my attention
This is the third in this series and at this time, there isn't another one but I can see how it could go on a little more. I enjoyed this book as I did the first two and look forward to reading/listening to more by this author.
A gripping tale, this one kept me up late. It was fun to be reading about "old friends" as Gina, the sister of characters in two previous stories, is the main protagonist. Ian, the hero, is wonderful. As always, a surprise ending delights.
Great romantic suspense! This book is fast-paced, and there were many twists and turns. Like Gina and Ian, I was never sure who were the good guys and who couldn’t be trusted. I’m sorry to see this series end - all three books are great!
Exciting story. Great characters on a mission to solve a mystery before being killed over what is so important the bad guys are willing to kill to find it. Another good Lynette Eason read.
This book is full of action, suspense, and drama, captivating and keeping my attention. I had to keep turning the pages, and hated to put it down. I can't wait to read the next one!
