"Help! I'm Falling For The Vampire Next Door" is a book by Celine Chatillon marketed by Liquid Silver Books as an erotic romance. I don't think the book quite makes the cut as erotica and the story is a fairly routine take on vampires, but that's just my opinion.

Melynda is a recently divorced, ex-teacher who just moved to St Louis to work for her cousin as an interior designer. She's living in the warehouse her cousin is renovating and helping with the construction and decor. The only other tenant in the building is Val, the hottie who lives in the basement and works at night. When she and Val hit it off, she quickly discovers there's something very different about Val and it's not just his hours!

Val is one of the Kindred. But he chooses to live as a man and makes his living as a talented photographer specializing in night photography. He's attracted to Melynda, but between his nosy Uncle Vlad and ancient enemy Van Helsing, their romance isn't going quite like he intended.

I never really warmed up to Melynda. She jumped into bed with Val extremely quickly without much feeling and then decides she's in love...uh huh. She also confused me with some of her decisions and I don't think she's someone I would want to spend time with. Val is very 'oh no I can't have her' constantly which pretty much began to grate on me. I think I liked Uncle Vlad more than either the hero or heroine! But even with all three, the story never really caught my attention or my feelings.

I really loved the cover of this book and it matches the story really well.

Melynda is now a single woman. She spent several years with a husband that was cheating on her. Now she has moved and helping her cousin fix the warehouse up. She really wants to be an interior designer. So her cousin is helping her out. She finds out that she has a man living downstairs and she can't stop until she knows that he isn't some killer.

Valentine Drakul, is a vampire that really loves to go by the name Val. When he notices the woman that has moved in upstairs he really wants her. She makes his body come awake in ways it hasn't done in over two hundred years. He knows he should leave her alone but he doesn't have the strength to say no when she sets out to seduce him.

I really have a thing about vampires, so this was such a wonderful book to read. It didn't take very long. After hearing the description of Val I just wanted to see him in real life. The author did a great job in describing everyone in the book. I just loved how these two got together and then you get to meet his uncle. He is a vampire that loves to do tricks on people. I have to say that he made the book a little lively.

Now everyone has to really watch themselves. Someone is out to use Melynda to do bad things. Seems he wants to kill all the vampires, but you will see things that will take you on another course of the story. I just have to say that I really enjoyed reading this book and I didn't want it to end. Now I will be dreaming about Val for several nights. I just have to say that this book is really hot.

Melynda is a recent divorcee who is tired of men who are unable to commit. When she first meets her new neighbor she thought he was the same until she realized his idea of commitment is for eternity.

Val left his home to live as a human; escaping a past he can barely live with. His sexy new neighbor tempts him to repeat mistakes he made in the past.

Val may feel like a monster, but the true nightmare is moving in and is hurting all Val holds dear. Mel will face the reality of a world she never knew existed, and happiness might only be found after death.

The writing of Ms. Chatillon draws the reader into the small world of Melynda and Val. I enjoyed Vlad, the uncle of Val; his personality was hard to pin down in the beginning as he seemed sinister. As the story progresses, the reality of the characters and the storyline reveal themselves. I enjoyed reading The Vampire Next Door and know paranormal enthusiasts will find it entertaining and enjoyable.

dnf. I could tell evem before the end of the first chapter this book wasn't gonna cut it for me. I can't rate anything but the heroine but god was she obnoxious. 9 pages of her whining about her divorce and telling herself shed prove everyone wrong. and I'm horny because my new neighbor is hot but no batteries so I'll eat...but wait is he a pornographer? seriously?! not even my random brain patterns would go there simply because a photographer prefers to work at night. I just couldn't finish this dreadful thing so I quit at that
