Conquer the Night

Rate this book
Psychologist Charley Ware knows her new client, police detective Laird Roberts, is walking a razor's edge of denied emotions. Having sworn to avenge a vicious crime, the virile cop has a chip on his shoulder the size of Mount Rushmore. Worse, he's using steely self-control... and bluntly sensual tactics ... to distract and unnerve Charley -- and he's succeeding!

Laird's carefully hidden vulnerability intrigues her; his brooding charisma and forthright come-ons lure her. He brusquely denies needing her, yet openly wants her ... Torn between duty and desire, Charley struggles to help Laird conquer his darkest fear--of surrendering to love.
