This book is the perfect introduction to planning for anyone interested in the profession. It’s easy to read, has relevant topics, and is not bugged down on too many details. Even experienced planners can utilize the information provided.
Weirdest expression i've ever heard on the back of this book "is a soup-to-nuts, highly reliable guide." WTF? what the hell does that mean?
Anyhoo, the authors did a great job writing this as simply as possible. For class we were required to read every chapter (except chapter 4 which I accidentally read and that chapter was really boring, long winded), and I felt they presented the materials in a very straight forward, down to earth simple way for everyone to understand. This is a great book for citizens who feel they want to start getting involved with city planning but have no clue how it works. Although, that being said, I feel like it might possibly be a waste of time because it is so vague and makes it a clear point that each city/town/county/state has very different and specific rules. If someone was really interested in jumping in, they might want to just start with their specific cities planning rules and possibly use this a reference.
