It was fine except for the bit where the heroine gives up her dream of stardom to write music behind the scenes. She does it with no remorse or much thought. The trope of women giving up on careers they love and struggle for a man makes me angry. Can't we send more empowering messages to women?

3.5 "Fun-to-read" Stars

Sometimes a simple visit to romanceland is all it takes to put a smile on this reader's face. That’s exactly what I found in Bethany Michaels’ “Nashville Heat” and it was a freebie to boot! Quick, short and fun read on a Sunday afternoon with a cast of easy to like characters and steamy encounters set in country music’s exciting city of Nashville. One has already found fame and the other is still striving with every ounce of strength to gain it. A chance encounter puts the
I liked this story, however, this book was a four star up until the the last few chapters. The ending felt rushed.

Wow!!!! This is definitely a new favorite author for me! I love reading about Nashville and I love country music, so this is a win win for me! I loved Dex and Syd. Dex was so honest and sincere and HOT!! I actually started reading this book but then had to stop to read an ARC book for another author. Although I loved the other book, I couldn't get this book off of my mind and I couldn't wait to get back to it! I'm so excited to start a new series with this author and I highly recommend it!!!

Enjoyable read. Dex and Sydney each have their own ideas of the future and have to find a way to combine their goals.

Waste of time.

NASHVILLE HEAT by Bethany Michaels.

Dex just signed a record deal and meets Sydney. She’s crazy about him but tells him she’s not interested. She doesn’t tell him her name or phone. Two years pass, and Dex becomes a mega star. They accidentally meet again and are drawn to each other, but again she leaves him. Sydney is a hopeful country singer/song writer. She sings in local bars while working for a caterer to pay her bills. After two years she’s still doing the same thi

The place ignited when they got together
I was like it is getting good baby!!!!

I didn’t like how she was playing hard to get which made Dex reminisce about her more…she was a sexual ,erotic, sex-in-a-public-place STAIN on his brain and downstairs .
Eventhough she was acting up…Becca let her know how it was…she was a saucy character!!! MUY CALIENTE!!!!
I was so GIDDY reading this book…I can’t believe I stayed up all night reading and couldn’t get up for

I really really really enjoyed this book! it hit like on every point I think a good book should have.
We meet Sydney a girl who is trying to get her foot in the door musically by waitressing at big time celebrity parties and she meets the new and rising country star Dex Wilder. And he is one HOT, smoldering cowboy! the two instantly have a connection and you can feel it radiating through the pages. They hook up one night and Syd runs, she knows what she wants in life and is not willing to sacrif

Despite what the previous Amazon reviewers put, there really were not a lot of editing mistakes though there were a few. However, they certainly didn't distract from the great story centered around the Nashville music scene about Sydney- a trying but not succeeding singer/songwriter, and Dex - a successful country chart topper. Also, this is fiction so when some critics put it was not a believable storyline I disagree -in fictional romance YES it was believable. I liked the characters. Usually I ...more

This was the first book in the Nashville Nights series and the first one I have read by Bethany Michaels. I really enjoyed the story. It is a little more sexual explicit than I like, but the story was good. It was about Dex Wilder a famous music star and Sydney an up and coming music singer/songwriter. She plays in a band and sings lead at a bar and also waits on tables. When she meets Dex they really click and it scares Syd away. She figures if she breaks it off now she can save her heart. This isn't a very long book and there are numerous typos like missing words and incorrect words, but the story is fun and the writing is pretty good. This appears to be an ebook that was laid out by someone with very basic skills. There are large spaces between paragraphs, supposedly to make the book fill more pages.
But even with these flaws the story itself is a good one. It's a fun, short read with lots of sex scenes. The characters are a little too flawless, but what romance is complete witho

Cute story about a girl, Sydney, who wants to make it big in Nashville. She doesn't want to sleep her way to the top. She and Dex, a country superstar, have a hot steamy encounter the very first time they meet. Sydney keeps running away from Dex. The reason....she's afraid that people will begin to give her chances because of who she is dating. There isn't much dating in this book. Mostly it's about Dex trying to chase down Sydney. There are steamy scenes in public places. No cliffhanger. Stubbo ...more

It was great to read a story about my home town of Nashville because I could really visualize the different places mentioned because they were all places I've been to several times over the years. Some of the scenes will make me look at Nashville landmarks a bit differently, especially the Parthenon. If you read this you'll see what I mean. Sydney was a bit frustrating but understandably stand-offish about entering into anything with Dex. I loved Dex though! Steamy well written romance. I look f ...more

Loved this story. I can't wait to read the others.
Sydney left home for her dream to be a country singer. While pulling odd jugs like waiting and catering she meets Dex the new up and coming singer. Had a hot fling and leaves him. 2 years pass and she decides to go to give her demo to a singer and ends up in Dex's room. Quick fling again and she runs. Happens a lot but in the end they have happiness. Loves it.

A totally engaging story. Sometimes you can't help fate no matter how hard you turn& it seems fate was determined to get Sydney & Sex together. He was the latest rock star commodity, she was playing bars trying to get noticed for her music not her cleavage. Endearing & heartening this is chick lit at its best. Lots of hanky panky - lustful rendezvous-vous & a great story
A book that makes you want to know what happens next.
It was a sweet but hot read. Ultimately, I enjoyed it and would recommend it to a friend, but Sydney's back and forth was frustrating, as was the "omg, I love you" moment. Dex and Sydney had neither a slow-building relationship nor insta-love; it was described as emotional and deep but seemed superficial. It was a really good freebie, but I wouldn't buy it.

Sweet Story

This story actually turned out to be a very sweet love story. There are some sex scenes throughout, but I don't feel they overtake the building of the relationship between the two main characters. They story line is easy to follow. The characters are really well written to where you feel you know them. All in all a very good quick read.

For free, worth the read for a short entertainment. What can I say? I like country musician heroes. I thought the conflict was a little forced because the heroine wasn't really acting according to her own feelings when there wasn't really a solid reason not to. I like steamy sex scenes as well as the next girl, but I wished there had been more of a story. Some typos.

I've read alot of short stories that left me wanting more from the characters and more from the story. Nashville Heat was so unlike all of those! Bethany Michaels did an amazing job of giving Dex and Sydney depth and life in such a short amount of time. The sex was hot and the ending was fantastic! Loved this quick read!

RT Book Reviews 4 1/2 stars:

"The heroine of this superb story leaps off the page with intelligence, drive and a full range of emotions. Michaels has a wonderful ear for dialogue, a knack for writing her heroine into slyly clever predicaments and an equally apparent talent for writing some of the most arousing sex scenes you'll ever read." Loved this!! Hot country star who is down to earth and fell in love. Hot girl trying to make something of herself on her own. She didn't believe what he kept trying to tell her. He kept
trying to tell her what he honestly felt. Loved all the characters. Can't wait to read the next
book in the series!!
We read these stories about musicians and always about the girl being clingy and wanting attention. This story was about Sydney being wary and being chased by the musician Dex. I loved how the chemistry was off the pages. The story seemed simple which is needed since the characters were complicated.

This is an entertaining story about a famous country star named Dex. He meets Sydney at a party where she is working as a waitress. Sydney is an aspiring country singer/writer, paying the bills by waitressing. Dex is a nice guy, who continually tries to let Sydney know how he feels about her. Sydney however, doesn't trust Dex. There were a few spelling errors, but I enjoyed NASHVILLE HEAT.
