Mikhail Fedorov is the most powerful Bratva boss in town, and I’ve just broken into his house.
Charlotte: This was supposed to be an easy score. In and out. No harm, no foul. But when Mikhail catches me red-handed and wraps those strong arms around me, telling me in his sexy accent that I picked the wrong damn house to rob, I know my goose is cooked. I expect the police and a future behind bars, but this Bratva boss has other plans for me. Locked in his house with no way to escape, the tension between us builds to the breaking point. He taunts me, pushes all my buttons, and leaves me wanting so much more. The only question is which one of us is going to break first.
Mikhail: No one steals from me and lives, but the beautiful thief I’ve just caught has me rethinking that credo. She’s a scared little rabbit before the wolf, but I can’t let my sweet bunny just walk away, not after she realizes who I am and what I’ve done. And especially not after I get a taste of just how sweet she really is. No, I’m keeping her, whether she likes it or not.
WARNING: This is a very steamy, dark, Bratva romance, and it does contain triggering content. Please read responsibly.
This is the first book in the Fedorov Bratva series, an interconnected series that can be read as standalones, but it’s more enjoyable if you read them in order. No cliffhangers, no cheating, and an HEA is always guaranteed!
This is the first book from this author that I DNF. This is also the first MMC that I don’t like at all. I usually love her male characters. Misha is cruel to Charlie from the jump. After he catches her sneaking into his house he holds her hostage, calls her a whore, hires an actual whore-sorry, escort- to come over to try and take his mind off her, when he can’t get it up for her he gives her to one of his men, they have sex in Mishas room where Charlie hears it and thinks it’s Misha. Misha then proceeds to make Charlie think it was him having sex with the escort. He teases her about it and rubs it in her face. She has betrayed by her body syndrome and does sexual stuff with him even while thinking he slept with someone else while she was in the next room. After they finish he confesses he never slept with the woman. The very next day they say I love you to each other. Literally in the same scene after he says I love you he says, so tell me about yourself?! Ahhhhhh I couldn’t do it anymore. I’m sorry, it’s awful. I may read the next one but he’s such a manwhore I may need a break.
Mikhail's and Charlotte's book. Bratva boss man and cat burgler heroine... Another enjoyable read that was insta luv/ lust.... I am really enjoying these Russian Bratva books by this author,yea...sure there is a pattern I am seeing now as I have read a few of her books so far,but what the heck! Reading is my pleasure and these books are providing me with enjoyment.
Okay, let’s talk about Caught by the Bratva Boss, a book that started like a firework 💥 and ended like a sparkler that fizzled out halfway through. 😅 Don’t get me wrong, I had fun, but by the end I was definitely rolling my eyes a little (affectionately, of course).
We’ve got Mikhail Fedorov, the cold, dangerous, ridiculously hot Bratva boss who apparently has the emotional intelligence of a cinnamon roll 🍰 and Charlotte “Charlie” Sinclair, a talented thief who decides to rob him of all people. Yeah… that goes about as well as you’d expect 😂. Instead of killing her, he keeps her captive (because mafia logic, I guess??) and suddenly she’s his toy, his obsession, his everything.
At first, I was so into it. Their first meeting? Tension. Sparks. A dash of chaos. I was ready for a slow burn filled with danger, betrayal, and maybe a few too many threats that turn flirty (you know the type 😉). But then BAM! literally a few pages later, it’s I hate you ➡️ let’s have sex ➡️ I love you. Like… ma’am. Sir. WHAT just happened?! 💀
Don’t get me wrong, the chemistry was there (and the sex scenes were chef’s kiss at first 🍷🔥), but by round #5 I was like, “Okay, we get it. You’re hot. You’re obsessed. Now, can we have some plot, please?” 😩 It got a little repetitive, and the lack of buildup made some scenes feel like déjà vu with different outfits.
And let’s talk about the “dark mafia” part. Mikhail? Sweetheart, you’re supposed to be terrifying. Instead, he’s handing out family heirloom diamonds like party favours and falling in love faster than I can say Stockholm Syndrome. 😭 I wanted menace and danger, I got possessiveness mixed with golden retriever energy.
That said, there were definitely things I enjoyed! 💕 The banter between Mikhail and his men? Absolutely hilarious. His protective, go-crazy mode when Charlie’s in danger? Swoon. Their wedding and baby epilogue? Pure fluff that melted my heart like butter on toast. 🥹
I just wish the pacing had been a little slower, more in line with a traditional romance. The middle of the book dragged a bit because all the tension had already fizzled, and by the time the danger/action plot picked up again, it felt like a completely different story.
Overall, Caught by the Bratva Boss had amazing potential, and the vibes were right spicy, dramatic, and full of mafia madness. But the execution felt a little rushed, and I needed a bit more depth, danger, and emotional buildup.
💭 If you love fast-burn, spicy mafia romance with a possessive hero, a feisty heroine, and a LOT of bedroom scenes, you’ll probably devour this in one sitting.😅
Still, Sonja Grey’s writing is always addictive, even when I’m frustrated, I can’t stop reading. So yeah, I’ll probably pick up the next book anyway. Call it toxic loyalty. 😂❤️
Sadness consumes me as I finish this book. Everyone who reads smut discovers new kinks, I am discovering new turn-offs.
The sex scenes are pretty decent but by the end of the book they feel too many, which is something I never expected to say but here we are. Maybe because at some occasions there is no build up to them or because they get a bit repetitive, causing some to be redundant. It's like watching the same porn a fifth time kinda thing. You might like it, it may have your kinks in it, but by the fifth time, you stop getting wet from it. While there is some progression, and the sex becomes more romantic as the characters get to know each other etc, the sex is pretty vanilla to begin with, which for me has no place in a "dark mafia romance" but the majority of "dark mafia romances" disagree with me, so I assume the readers also do, so I 'm just gonna drop this as a very personal comment in here.
Now that we got that important bit out of the way, let's discuss the rest.
In the beginning, a lot makes sense. There's a logical sequence of events that leads the two main characters to meet and I am very happy with the "lust at first sight" trope because IRL it's not so rare anyway. However, a mob boss, who is kind hearted, does not cheat, does not immediately kill a thief, in their own home, well it's too much to swallow all at once. This guy has the IQ of a chicken, which does not fit a boss and he is the most gullible and least wary person in the book. Anyone working in anything illegal or underground won't trust their mother with a $3 washcloth but this guy just . SURE.
One more downside is the 25 y.o. virgin. I get the kink BUT I have just had it with the elderly virgins in *every* smut book. And it's not like it makes sense. In every book where a 25+ y.o. virgin appears, they are always gorgeous, super sexy and horny women but somehow they just haven't lost their V cards. Babes, this ain't realistic. Either make her 16-19 y.o. or something, or just give her some sexual experience. At least give a believable excuse. Like yeah, somehow no man by that point was worth it, or the character is so ugly no one wants her, or idk they are too afraid to have sex because XYZ... Something. "She was too busy", "she was focused on work/studies", "she was trying to make ends meet" and so on. Those are the usual suspects and it's just not realistic. We all have those problems, I don't know anyone who was too busy to never have sex and if we all expected to be rich to lose our V cards, all the millenials would be nuns and monks.
So tell us, why the three stars? Because as Dido once said, it's not so baaad, it's not soooo baaaad. Oh, and the scene at the restaurant was PURE GOLD. The extended answer is a spoiler.
Finally, the ending was pure cringe.
If anyone has an actual ***dark*** (can't stress dark enough, like worst nightmares dark, horror level dark) romance book to suggest, I am all ears.

I wanted to like this book, but it just didn't do it for me. I've read a bunch of Sonja Grey's books and I think I might be having a book hangover with her writing. It can just be a bit repetitive. Although the male characters seem to differ enough within each series, the women just seem like they lack many differences between each other.
I also didn't like that she was a virgin. It's such a disgusting trope that is done in mafia books. Like I get it, because traditional mafias would sell their daughters for treaties between families and the woman's virginity was important. But Charlie isn't a mafia princess that has been locked in a tower. Can we normalize that women like sex just as much as men?
This book was just what the doctor ordered to get me out of my book slump! I really enjoyed this book! Mikhail was so swoon worthy and Charlie is such a fun and interesting FMC!
I loved their story and the book kept my intention all the way through. Mikhail is such a sweetheart and I love his jealous little comments to Artyom and Yuri. Their banter was hilarious. I’m really excited to read their books soon!
Caught By The Bratva Boss - Sonja Grey is a go to author for me, she gave us the Melnikov’s & we all know how much I love them but this book right here was disappointing.
The overall story was good but I think Sonja either rushed this or got the delivery very wrong.
The book started with the MMC Mikhail AKA Misha treating the FMC Charlie very poorly, belittling her & humiliating her which I didn’t have a problem with but then they virtually instantly switched to being madly in love, like I can’t live without you, everything I have is yours kinda love, there was no build up or obvious change, it was weird & it didn’t feel right at all, then made the rest of the book not sit well with me. More time was needed between the switch to develop these so called feelings.
so he's cruel to her, makes her feel like shit, humiliates her, and deceives her into thinking he slept with someone else...... and then he tells her he actually DIDN'T sleep with someone else, and she's all 😍😍😍😍 and kisses him and tells him she fell in love with him at first sight. uhhhhh okay..... he literally hasn't treated her with basic human decency for five consecutive seconds, and somehow she's in love with him and everything is fine?? and then they have sex a whole bunch. nothing he did to her is even acknowledged.

This author is quickly becoming a favourite. I loved this book. Possessive Alpha check. Sassy woman check. Drama and of course a little danger. The epilogue as always was perfect.

Charlotte (25, mfc, thief) Mikhail (38, mmc, bratva)
Charlotte (Charlie) is a hostess, working at a higher-end restaurant and picking out marks to later steal from. When she tags Mikhail, she knows she shouldn't but can't help herself. He saw it on his security system and interrupts her, deciding that he can't let get go until he gets answers. Problem is, by the time he gets those answers, he can't let her leave. Not only does she know something she shouldn't, but he's obsessed with her. He toys with her in a couple of different ways, one of which really sets her off. So she escapes, hurting herself in the process. He tracks her down, bringing her back and setting into motion a series of things that will tie them together in more ways than one. Charlie then convinces him to let her help him in a danger job... Will she be able to pull it off? Can he save her in time?
So I loved this author’s other bratva series with the three brothers and wanted the same vibes. I hated this hero and the heroine was annoying . The hero calls her “little shit” at least 4x. He humiliated her . Makes her think he had sex with an escort in the room next to her to push her away. He continues to rub in the fact that he screwed the prostitute to hurt her even though it was his right hand man in his bedroom having sex. I didn’t like the hero and that’s something I couldn’t get past. Even once she found out he wasn’t sleeping with someone else and they declared they loved one another I felt no connection.
I got to 42% and couldn’t finish. The timeline in the story seems really off. He finds her in his house after she tries to rob him and then within a matter of days they have sex and are both saying that they love each other? I’m all for a fast timeline if the quality of the content is good or if it’s a shorter book but this just didn’t do it for me. Decent writing and the story itself was okay but it lost me midway.

Mikhail Fedorov is a powerful and dangerous Bratva leader. Charlotte Sinclair is a working class citizen by day and a professional thief by night. Their paths cross after an embarrassing run-in at a restaurant where Charlie makes the decision to break into Mikhail’s home to steal from him. A poor decision that changes the trajectory of both their futures. He catches her in his home and is intrigued that this young and beautiful female had the nerve to break into a secured Bratva compound. He has a choice to make on how to punish Charlie and instead of getting rid of her, he allows her to live but she is a prisoner that is now his toy.
Mikhail is a cold and cruel bastard that taunts Charlie. Her mind, heart, and body are at war with themselves as she hates him but can’t help the burning desire her body as for his touch. She is powerless to stop Mikhail from learning to make her body sing. It’s not just Charlie fighting an internal struggle as Mikhail is softening toward her and developing an unhealthy obsession. He even goes as far as microchipping her without her knowledge so he can always have tabs on her. Can we say possessive much? ;)
I very much disliked Mikhail for the first half of the book. The humiliation ad degradation punishments were hard for me to read, but luckily those were early on and everything changed once he developed feelings. I do wish he would have groveled some for his actions but he did make up for his behavior in other ways. In the end, he realized that Charlie is a true gem to treasure and worship. He’ll protect her at any cost.
I’m obsessed with all of Sonja Grey’s work. I was first introduced to her writing in the Russian Boxing Club series (which I devoured) and I am delighted that she is writing a spin-off series with Fedorov Bratva. They’re lightly interconnected in the same shared world but can be read as standalone novels. I can’t wait to read more in this series!
Tropes: Mafia romance, dark romance, age gap, forced proximity, captive romance, enemies-to-lovers, virgin heroine, happily-ever-after Heat: 4/5.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Okay, so this book had me feeling all kinds of ways—some good, some frustrating. 😅 Mikhail is your typical cold, broody, and dangerously powerful Bratva leader, while Charlotte (Charlie) is a professional thief with questionable morals. Their paths collide when she stupidly decides to rob him, only to end up as his prisoner/plaything. Cue the toxic attraction, power plays, and possessiveness (oh, and a microchip… because why not?).
🔥 What I Liked:
The chemistry is undeniable—when Mikhail and Charlie finally stop fighting their feelings, it gets steamy. 🌡️ I appreciated that their relationship wasn’t instant love (at least at first). The push-pull dynamic kept things interesting. Mikhail’s redemption arc was satisfying enough—he didn’t grovel as much as I wanted, but he definitely made up for his earlier behavior in his own way. Bonus points for actually including foreplay in the spice scenes! So many books forget about this. 👏 🤨 What Didn’t Work for Me:
Charlie was hard to root for at first. I get the whole "robbing the rich" angle, but it felt off when she justified stealing because they "wouldn’t even notice." Really? 🙄 The romance arc was inconsistent—first, they hated each other, then they admitted they were in love from the start. Pick a lane! Some major plot points (especially the danger/action scenes) felt rushed, making them less impactful. That public scene in the dressing room? Kinda gross. 🤢 All in all, this was an entertaining, spicy mafia romance with dark themes, but it had its flaws. If you’re into possessive heroes, enemies-to-lovers tension, and steamy Bratva romance, you’ll probably enjoy this one. Just be prepared for some WTF moments along the way! 😆
I did really really enjoy this book, but a few things really grated on me. Charlotte/Charlie is a burglar who breaks into peoples houses and steals from them. The author tried to make her seem more likeable but I hated her at the beginning of the book. Yes she did grow on me, but her morals are sadly lacking. She tells herself that they’re so rich that they won’t even notice, when their priceless jewellery isn’t there. Charming…. She’s also a loner with no family, friends, interests or hobbies, and that put me off her as well. Why no friends?
When she breaks into the head of the Russian Bratva’s house and gets caught by Misha. She realises that she did a really really stupid thing. Misha finds her entertaining and keeps her in his house, and very obviously fancies her, and she likes him too. I did love the fact that it wasn’t instant love as they fought their feelings, for each other. Which is another niggle. Later on they say to each other that they loved each other as soon as they first met. No they didn’t!!! He was cold and horrible to her, and she hated how he embarrassed her. It definitely wasn’t love.
There is some danger later on in the book, that’s over way too quickly. The sex scenes are incredibly hot, and there’s foreplay. Actual foreplay. After reading loads of books lately where there’s been no foreplay at all, this was brilliantly written.
Really really good book. Just wish that Charlie was a more rounded character with friends and a life. Also the messy sex scene in a changing room is bit gross.
🔫 Bratva romance 🔥 she's a burglar and he's a Bratva boss 🥵 spicy 🍑 spankings 🏠 she breaks into his house
A fairly quick, predictable fun, and spicy Bratva book. Charlie is a thief who targets Mikhail not knowing he's a Bratva boss. So when she hits up his house, he discovers her and decides keeps her.
I loved how the book started haha. Charlie is pretty funny. And Mikhail was obsessed with her from the start. Giving like sorta insta-love vibes too but I didn't have a problem with it. Their chemistry was hot and Mikhail became so soft for her. 🥺
I loved his 2 buddies too. Yuri and Artyom. I loved how they teased Misha and gave him shit over falling in love. But they developed a cute little bond with Charlie too. Wish I got to see little more of that. But I'm excited for Artyom's book!
The book does turn away from much plot to them just boning so if you're just looking for some spice this is it! It got a little cheesy and predictable too but all in good fun. I think I needed something like this to cleanse my palate of the last book I read.
Mikhail Fedorov is known for being a hardened brat a boss and his female company is the kind you pay for so he has no romantic entanglements. When Mikhail sees Charlotte (Charlie) for the first time she accidentally spills water on him and it seems from that time forward he can't stop thinking about her. Then he catches Charlie in his closet trying to steal from him and decides he is going to keep her with him to find out how she found his house and managed to break in. Charlie knows she shouldn't break into the dangerous mans house no matter how handsome or intriguing he may seem. Now she finds herself his captive and can't stop thinking about what it might be like to sleep with him. Can Charlie tame the big bad bratva boss or will he toss her aside once he gets the information he needs?
this had such good potential! but just fell flat. i loved the start, them meeting & seeing her “mafia” side! however, after he caught her breaking into his home, things were just moving way toooo quickly. it felt very forced & insta-love. sex after sex is what i was reading (which is fine) but, i want to see more of their affection side to one another and caring in ways other than physical intimacy. i can’t remember who said “i love you” first, but it was just too fast! (i am a slow burn lover 4ever🫶🏻)
stars for the fact that they were cute at times, and i really enjoyed the story! both characters were super likeable & it was easy to get into!
i will be reading the other books in this series because i can’t find any books at the moment that i haven’t read! overall, it was a decent book.
Just like every other book I’ve read by Sonja, I really loved Mikhail and Charlie’s story. Sneaking into Mikhail’s house turned out to be the best thing she ever did. I have fallen in love with Sonja’s writing style. Her men are possessive, protective, have a dirty mouth and an incredible soft and gentle touch for their women. I absolutely love how Sonja writes her female characters, they’re strong, have a past that isn’t great, but by the end of the story have more confidence and strength in themselves. They really grow from start to finish. And her books have the perfect amount of spice, and the scenes are hot! This was a really great book and start to the Fedorov series. Once I started I couldn’t put it down! Now onto book 2!
This book is very fast burn. Usually I love a good fast burn but this was not it for me. The MC’s go from have a list filled hate for each other while being held captive to suddenly saying I love you in the next chapter. That being said, I still appreciate Sonja Grey’s writing and have loved many of her other books. I think the fast-burn approach could have worked better with a slightly different storyline—one that allowed for just a little more tension and buildup before diving into the romance. Once I overcame the quickness of it in the beginning I did enjoy the story line at the end of the book and the lack of a 3rd act breakup! (Something I love about this author) Fans of high-intensity, instant-attraction love stories may still enjoy this one, but for me, it was just a bit too quick.

I really wasn’t a fan of this book. Compared to the other books by this author, this one just didn’t hit the mark for me.
The MMC went from calling an escort (and making the FMC believe he actually slept with her) to suddenly being in love with the FMC the next day? That emotional whiplash made zero sense. On top of that, I hated how he constantly called her a “little shit”..
The FMC wasn’t any better, she was just plain annoying most of the time. And don’t even get me started on that scene toward the end: she gets taken, and the MMC knows where she is because of the tracking device he put in her. But instead of going after her immediately, he waits for confirmation?? Like… what?
I found myself hating more things about this book than I enjoyed. Just didn’t work for me.

I found Mikhail very stubborn and kind of a jerk. The moments that he allows her to think that he has slept with Chantal seem to have been a larger trigger for me than i thought. Overall a very spicy book. I will say that having them fall in love at 50% after essentially being enemies seems very fast especially since its like immediately after they have smegs for the first time. The second half of the book however is action packed and awesome! She stands her ground after being kidnapped and shows her loyalty to Mikhail and the Bratva by not ratting. She is such an incredibly strong woman.

I love all of Sonja's books, each one I read I love a little more. This book is one of the lighter story lines than the others I have read of hers, but just as good. Charlie is one of my favorite female characters. She is strong and brave and doesn't back down from a challenge. Misha is a cold, hard bratva boss who melts when he finds his one and only. I didn't think I would like insta love mafia romances, but the way Sonja writes her characters/stories, she makes it work, and the love is always so sweet and powerful.
I enjoyed this book. We know by now that Sonja Grey can do no wrong in my opinion. I loved the characters and I am intrigued by the side characters and their stories. It's a 10/10 for me. Also if you like smut you will love this series and her other ones too. One thing I will say that was different from the others books I have read by Sonja is Mikhail was a jerk in the beginning. I didn't appreciate that 😏🙃
