Ein herrliches Buch, das einen rasanten Start hinlegt. Erzählt wird die Geschichte von Michal, der mit homosexuellen Eltern in Bratislava aufgewachsen, den Repressalien der Gheimpolizei ausgesetzt ist. Nach der Wende lebt er eher so in den Tag hinein und träumt davon sein Leben zu verändern, in dem er Bratislava verläßt. Schließlich erhält er ein Jobangebot einer Eskortfirma, dass er annimmt. Er ist sehr beliebt und steigt schnell in der Gunst der Frauen. Doch wer hoch steigt kann auch tief fall ...more

I don´t know what to say. Most of the book was kind of interesting, but the ending was like the very fast written. I didn´t like it much.

Michal Hvorecký(born 1976) is a Slovak author.

He is the author of two collections of short stories: Strong sense of Cleanliness (1998) and Hunters & Gatherers (2001). His novel The Final Hit appeared in 2003, Plush in 2005 (published in 2006 in German translation as City: Der unwahrscheinlichste aller Orte) and Eskorta in 2007 (will be published in 2009 in German translation).
