Saw this is the book store and thought it was hilarious and then by the time I needed to go I had finished it. These were hilarious.
Louise (A Strong Belief in Wicker)
A very early picture book from Doug MacLeod that really does prove you can write a picture book about anything. Reading this just confirms my notion that I really need to read more of his work.

I've only read the 'Sister Isobel and the Zoo' poem from this book, but I've read (and performed) it so many times it's well and truly stuck in my head all these years later. I love the cheekiness of Doug Macleod's humour and the sly, ruthless way Sister Isobel gets rid of all her students at the zoo is very amusing.

I always want to associate this with working on Nunsense at Malvern - perhaps I re-read it then? However, it was in actual fact a grade 6 new library book. Heaps of fun :)

Ten Second Synopsis:
This a collection of fictional poems written by a fictional nun about all the other fictional nuns living at their fictional convent.

The fact that the convent is called "Our Lady of Immense Proportions". Honestly, that's enough of a laugh in itself to justify buying the book. The poems take up about a page each and are accompanied by amusing illustrations. There is enough variety in the personal vices of the nuns presented here - from feeding small children to zoo animals, to
