Vintage Collage Journals is the sequel to artist Maryjo Koch’s Vintage Collage-Works , her first book illustrating her unique style of collage art with antique ephemera. In her new book, Koch has compiled an inspiring portfolio of her many themed journals combining collage techniques with watercolor painting and other artist’s techniques. She explores the collage medium in travel journals, recipe keepsake books, and nature and garden sketchbooks. As an avid collector of antique paper ephemera, Koch utilizes the things she collects in inventive ways to add personal touches to her journals, mingling them with photos, sketches, and paintings of the many themes she explores. Along the way, she also shows how the act of making a journal can be a valuable way to explore an experience or subject in greater depth.

This book is full of beautiful vintage images. You are shown how to create vintage, personal journals, travel journals, and even wine journals. It provides great information to help you create a vintage journal of your choice. If you have a stash of vintage photo's, or any type of vintage ephemera, along with treasures that you have collected over the years, now Maryjo Koch provides you with instructions to put them to use in a beautiful journal. Along with using your collected items, she also shows you painting techniques for gouache eggs, collage techniques, and background techniques. As an added bonus, she has also included seven pages of beautiful vintage images for your personal use in your journals.

I came across this book on Hoopla. I have recently been interested in collage and like looking at things for inspiration. I liked a lot of the techniques presented in this book and plan to implement them in my collages.

Beautiful examples of collage. There's only so much you can say about collage. But if you have trouble looking at a collage and visually separating out the pieces and realizing that you just glued them one on top of each other, this book is for you. But actually the Book is worth reading just for the illustrations. These are beautiful collage journals.

Step-by-step easy instructions & supply lists with various techniques are beautifully presented with gorgeous examples of journals included. Love that all of the clip-art its also included in the back if the book for you to photocopy & use in your own creations. Thank you, MaryJo Koch for this beautiful book! Can't wait to make my own & I hope they turn out half as good!
