Dick Enberg was a terrific play-by-play tv guy in many different sports. Coming up with advice to be a good public speaker -- not so good.

The book has some useful pieces of humor. The problem is that there's little in the book to help a reader make a good choice about what humorous statements can be used. He tells on page 2 that "...self-denigrating humors works best of all." Some times, yes. Not always. He also quotes Mark Twain's famous statement, "It usually takes me more than three weeks to prepare a good impromptu speech." The presentation of the humor works against that goal.

But, there's lots of funny stuff for speeches--but only for the person who knows what he wants to do with humor.

And, yes, I copied a number of the jokes just to have them in case......

This was a Deseret Industries find that yielded some fun quotes. Eric used one by Mark Twain in his talk in church. Enberg also gives great advice on public speaking.

This book is a combination of: humorous quotes with tips for public speaking, in general. The jokes are not funny, but the tips are useful.
