This book is based on their experiences and provides a thoroughly modern introduction to the subject. There is a wealth of examples and exercises, some of which introduce students to novel or more advanced material.

Very nice introductory text on coding theory, though the writing style may not be quite my liking. It is also thin enough to not make the whole text overwhelming.
