How big were dinosaurs and what did they eat? Which were friendly and which were scary? For children beginning to read on their own, this book is an exciting introduction to dinosaurs, featuring easy-to-read text specially written with the help of a reading expert.
A colourful non-fiction children's book on dinosaurs, featuring not only easy to understand facts, but also comparisons with existing animals today in a way to show size and scale.
With dinosaur-crazy kids, this was a great read. I only thought it could have been written in a more engaging manner. Nonetheless, a fun read for the little ones.
Previewed this today. Bought for 4 year old grandson’s Easter basket. Wonderful, colorful illustrations and lots of interesting and fun facts. Great for learning and entertainment value. Recommend for any young dinosaur lover!
I appreciated the format and readability of this book. Unfortunately, it insisted on pushing the theory that dinosaurs lived millions of years ago as fact. It isn't a fact if you can't prove it, people. It's a THEORY. Please treat it as such.
Fantastic addition to our book shelf for my dinosaur mad kids. Really interesting facts and the pictures are really fantastic and enticing for young readers. Just the right length with the right amount of information for little ones.
The only thing I would have reeeeeally liked was a little help with the pronunciation of some of the dinosaur names, but that is the only problem I had. Really enjoyed learning some new information along side my kids.
A good non-fiction book about dinosaurs presented in a very child friendly way with lots of key facts. The facts are separated into sentences rather than large paragraphs which makes it more accessible to all children by no the ability and age. There are photographs as well as colourful illustrations which makes the pages very engaging. Good research resource in the classroom for a topic or for children to explore for pleasure.
This is one of the best dinosaurs books I ever read. Very informative. But I suggest you read some dinosaur books before this one..... You'll like this one more.
This book is an Usborne Beginner book. It is a nonfiction book filled with many interesting facts and colorful illustrations. It tells about the different types of dinosaurs in an interesting yet easy to understand way.
I really liked this nonfiction book. I feel like it was very informative and still easy to understand. I think little kids will love this book.
I could use this in a dinosaur unit or just include it in the section of my library for nonfiction free reads.
This book does a great job of explaining dinosaurs to young children. It uses large images full of color and animation to show children the lives of dinosaurs. It also does comparisons of some of the animals and it uses the full page to show the children the actual difference in size from animal to animal. The author has fun facts throughout the book that add to the information that the book already presents.
my son loves me reading this to him as at 5 he is mad about dinosaurs. Looking forward to him being able to read it himself soon as its aimed at young readers
Interesting information about dinosaurs, and great illustrations. Every two pages covers another fact in large print with great illustrations. In the back is a glossary of dinosaur words.
