Not a bad book of reviews, especially if you're trying to expand your Heavy Metal palate.

Not very informative/deep in reviews (this is so awesome, you just have to listen to this!) but in its own (humorous) type it's a good guide. I listed almost all of the bands and albums here because it made me interested of them. I liked that it had quite big pics of album covers and what's new for me that they also showed the back cover of a CD, I've never seen that and it was a big plus. Plus of course track names. Recommendable for people like me who are new or quite new to metal and haven't checked all the most important records yet.

Great little pocket reference book and good insight on metal albums. If you are looking to broaden your metal album collection - grab this book.

I listened to all 100 albums and am glad I got this! I had it on my desk, flipped open a random page, and listened to the album. Ofc, it is impossible to agree with any list, and the information was not great. Moreover, I felt that the selections for black and death metal were quite subpar. However, the book was fun to flip through, had full-page album covers, and introduced me to many albums.

Here, this book is a great beginners guide to Heavy Metal. Covers a tonne but there is still some eye watering omissions that limit this books appeal.

If this hadn't come out in 2009, I would've thought it was written by AI. Turns out it's actually written by a bunch of boomers who can't spell, who get basic facts like years and names wrong, and who think Tom Morello is more renowned for Audioslave than for Rage Against The Machine.
