Kehret scores another slam dunk with what should be on all humane education reading lists for middle school-aged students.

Kehret skillfully introduces possibly unfamiliar concepts of feral cats and the need to have pets altered within her text, without halting the fast-paced storyline.

Don't Tell Anyone is geared toward a similar audience--animal-loving tween girls--as Laurie Halse Anderson's Vet Volunteers series. Yet, Kehret's writing is much better than Anderson's, and she shows a much greater knowledge and passion for her subject matter.

I was also happy to note that while Kehret does not describe her characters as being vegetarian, the foods they eat throughout the book are all meatless. This is also a marked contrast to Anderson, who typically has her characters worrying over animals' lives over plates of steak and chicken.

I purchased this book for my library.

How would you feel if you got kidnapped by a total stranger? Megan used to visit the open fields and feed the stray cats. One day there was a sign that stated a building was going up. Megan needed to find a way to save the cats. A stranger came by who offered to help, but he was the one wanting to clear the lot for the building. This book was a thriller! It is fully of suspense and mystery. The main character Megan loves animals and everyday goes to feed ferrel cats in an open field. One day she sees a hit and run, the next day she finds a note by the cats that says "if you want the cats to live, don't tell anyone". Megan continues to pursue the mystery and make sure the cats will not get hurt. This leads to the man kidnapping her and she fights to save her life and outsmart the abductor. I would not use this in my classroom due to how scary I thought it was. I would want it in my classroom library, but would have a parent permission slip for the child to read it. I know as a elementary school student this book would give me nightmares as it scared me as a 22 year old.

I really liked this book because it was fun to read and was an awesome book! I would give this book a 5 star rating. This book was interesting because she was trying to save the cats while she had to deal with a car accident and someone trying to kill her. I loved reading this book because it was an adventure book. Adventure is the best to read to me because it has a lot of action going on. Peg Kehret has great books! She puts a lot of suspense in them which makes them fun to read because you don’t know what is going to happen. Sometimes this book had happy moments and other times it had some sad. This book also made me want to read on after ever chapter. I really liked this book.

I think this book was a great book! It was very adventurous. I liked that she was very into animals and cats. I rated it a 4 star, because it was kind of a childish book. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes adventures or actions books! This book was full of suspense for the entire time. I love all of Peg Keherts books, she is a great author. It got sad at times, when Shane tried to burn her in the Hot Air Balloon. She ended up living! In the end, it was a great book! Even though Megan almost died, She survived!

I gave this book 3 stars because I thought it was a good realistic fiction book. I thought it was kind of like a mystery because Megan the main character had to find out who was in the hit and run car accident. Also she had to find out who gave her that threatening note. I liked Megan because she was not going to let those cats in the field die. she kept on trying and never gave up.If you like cats and a little bit of mystery in a book you should check out Don't Tell Anyone by Peg Kehret.

I think that this book was one of the interesting book I've read by Peg Kehert. I really like how there was always something going on there wasn't a slow place in the book where you were just waiting for something exciting to happen. It can by kinda confusing because every other chapter is a told by a different person so you have to pay attantion. I think Megan was really brave to stand up the cats when no one else would and to stay calm when she was kidnapped. This is a good book for people who like realistic fiction.

I gave this book three stars because its a good realistic fiction book. This book has alittle bit of mystery too. I like the characters because she doesnt want to give up. I recommend this book to people who like realistic fiction and mystery. I think they could of made the book better by her finding the cats and taking them home and to ask her mom if she could take the cats to the humane society right away.

This book is AMAZING!!!! It is packed with action and suspision. How many of you think you could be involved with a car accident, help save feral cats, and out run a mysterious criminal. Well, I know I couldn't ever in my life. There were a lot of parts in this book that I couldn't even set it down. I can't really tell you much more other wise I'd give the whole book away.

I gave this book a five star because it is such a good book. At the end was a little scary because Shane, an adult, kidnapped and threatened to kill Megan, the main character, if she told anyone about the cats and newborn kittens, which she did, but she survived. I would recommend someone to read this book even when you start to read it you can't stop.

This book was an amazing action packed book. Three of my fovorite parts in the book is when she first finds the cats hidden in a pipe, when she sees a big white sine at the place were the cats are, and lastly when she realizes that someone knows about what she is doing. I thought this was a really good book and that you should read it some time soon.

I thought it was a really good book. Really scary the last 30 pages, it makes your heart jump. It is in everyone's point of view in the story. Well, Megan and Shane. Don't judge its book by its cover, it's really good! :-)

This really wasn't that good. It lost my attention from, like, the second page. Good plot, but it could have moved faster in the beginning.
