In the tradition of What Would Jackie Do? and How to Be Lovely: The Audrey Hepburn Way of Life, here is a “Guide to Life” tribute to Grace Kelly that will instruct and inspire fans on all ways to live with a “touch of grace.”Even before she became Princess of Monaco in an elaborate wedding ceremony in 1956, Grace Kelly’s iconic status and personification of elegance was secured through her legendary roles in Dial M for Murder, To Catch a Thief, and Rear Window. A Touch of Grace features guidance on living gracefully, inspired by Grace Kelly’s life: from fashion tips, to catching a prince, to how to play it cool. With rare and never-before-seen photos, anecdotes, quotes, and other biographical commentary, this little compendium will show any woman how to cultivate her own style, charm, and noble flair.
Lovely and quick biography of Grace Kelly. Presented as valuable life lessons one should use to become a bit like Grace Kelly, it gives you a general overview of her life in a really fun way. Also includes many photographs and quotes.. the last chapter about her death really was heartbreaking.
Gorgeous coffee table book, lots of pictures and touches of information. It doesn't give a full portrait of Grace Kelly as a bio, but just enough to wet your interest. About a 40 minute read.
Recently, I was watching My Makeup and Style Inspirations: Grace Kelly on Daphne’s Beauty via her You Tube channel. In her presentation, Daphne shared excerpts from Cindy De La Hoz’s book, A Touch of Grace: How to be a Princess, the Grace Kelly Way. After watching the presentation, I decided I wanted to peruse the book, so I reserved it via our local public library.
A Touch of Grace: How to be a Princess, the Grace Kelly Way is a “guide to life” on how to live life with “a touch of grace.” The book is divided into twelve chapters: Family Matters, Blonde Ambition, Fire and Ice, Work Ethics, Gentlemen Prefer Ladies, Friends and Lovers, To Catch a Prince, Wedding of the Century, Hard Knocks, Dial M for Motherhood, Giving Back, and Saying Farewell. The book contains photographs, quotes from Grace herself, anecdotes, and biographical commentary. After reading A Touch of Grace: How to be a Princess, the Grace Kelly Way, any woman will know how to cultivate her own style, charm, and noble flair.
A fun look at the life and legacy of Grace Kelly, told mainly through photos and quotations from her and those who knew her. Kelly defined elegance in the 1950s and beyond, and she conducted herself with class and discretion. The photos captured a more stylish time for women's fashion, and Kelly knew how to wear clothes. She is a style icon, past, present, and future. I felt bad for Princess Stephanie (her daughter) who was in the car when Kelly had the accident that killed her. Princess Stephanie got blamed in a firestorm of false allegations - that Stephanie was driving, that they were arguing and that caused the accident. Apparently, the truth is that Grace Kelly had a medical condition (an aneurysm) that caused her to lose control of the car. It was tragic enough for the family without Stephanie being blamed. Very sad ending to an otherwise blessed life.
This one set around for a long time before I finally finished it. It is not a novel and it is not a biography. It is basically a small coffee table book. It includes beautiful photographs of Grace Kelly and little tidbits about her life. Information about her lifestyle, her opinions, her advice are presented as steps to behave like a princess. It's really a very Charming book for fans of Grace Kelly and Hollywood glamour.
Possibly the prettiest book i own! Such a lovely coffee table book to own! I found this book in a local charity shop and i’m so glad i brought it a very interesting read not too long and full of beautiful pictures Grace Kelly is the epitome of elegance and i just admire her so much a very interesting and lovely read!!
I have never read anything from this author before, and I want more. Wonderfully written, this takes you to the past with magical realism. This sucks the audience into a world of the past with interviews from family members, friends long before fame. Grace Kelly is a—was—a beautiful woman filled with poise. A wonderful little coffee book.
This is not a biography, though it does share little snippets about Grace Kelly's life and career. Rather, it's a compilation of thoughts and stories about living a Grace-filled life. As the author states on the dust jacket, "with rare and never-before-seen photos, anecdotes, quotes, and other biographical commentary, this collection will show any woman how to cultivate her own style, charm, and noble flair."
It contains quotes like these: "When you look at Grace, she reminds you of a cool breeze of fresh air." (Bing Crosby)
"Grace brought into my life...a soft, warm, light every time I saw her, and every time I saw her was a holiday of its own." (Jimmy Stewart)
There are life lessons from Princess Grace's life, such as: Remember birthdays, keep in touch, be hospitable, have a hobby, connect with people, leave behind warm memories. For all those lessons (and dozens more), the book provides little stories showing how this beautiful, elegant, and gracious lady exemplified them in her life. And,of course, the book is loaded with gorgeous photos...from Grace's childhood, her Hollywood career, her storybook wedding to a real life prince, and her life as Her Serene Highness of Monaco.
While not a deep read, A Touch of Grace is delightful, gracious, and all-together lovely.
