Encompassing historical firsts, great performances, and contemporary record-setting events, Hockey's Book of Firsts presents a guided tour of more than 150 of the sport's defining moments in and out of the rink.
I don’t particularly care for the author’s writing style, his turn-of-phrase so to speak. But the book is chalk full of interesting facts, on pretty much every page. I think it likely rates more than two stars but, unfortunately, it delivers a very poor reading experience simply because of the font size used. It looks about a 5 pt. type, maybe 6 but I doubt it… the photo captions could not be read with just my reading glasses, I needed a magnifying glass! I’ve seen prescription bottles with larger type. Knowing how many stages, and hands, a book has to pass through to get published, I amazed this was allowed.
