Grief, Love, and Other Light Topics

These poems were written to help me deal with grief after the passing of my wife from cancer. I believe they can help others who are grieving find some light. They explore love and grief. Other poems recall events and experiences in my life with which others, I believe, can relate.

Grief, Love, and Other Light Topics Roy G. Faulkner is a very emotional, very well-written poetry book about the grief of a man who lost his soulmate. In his poems, I felt all the stages of grief he went through. I felt the man's pain through the pages. I recommend this book to people who seek support in their grief, who need to know they're not alone and their feelings are absolutely normal and they have to go through them in order to feel better in the future.

A book filled with many feelings all of them touching to the reader. Poetry books, at least good ones, are about deep emotions written with pretty words. This was more than that. I loved that the author incorporated simple things in life and could inspire me to imagine and to appreciate these moments more than before. His vivid poems let me peek into his life and be with him every step of the way. I highly recommend this book!

Grief, Love, and Other Light Topics is a special poetry book. Special for me anyway. As I read the first few poems I immersed myself in the author's world and as I kept reading I understood what he means even better. This little book can be a safety net for some people, for others it can be a beautiful story, for thirds it might be a love story but for all, I'm sure, it shall be a book that they are happy they have read. For me- it was all of this and more.

Grief, Love, and Other Light Topics by Roy Faulkner is a book filled with outstanding poems. Romance, drama, and tragedy can be found on the pages. The poems inspire and show what is important in life. Even though, I admit, I got teary eyes more than once, in the end,a it left me with a feeling of hope and joy. The loss for the author is great, no doubt, but the life he had with his wife, and the friends that help him through this horrible time, show me that there is still good in this world.

Beautifully written poetry book! The author has poured his heart and soul on the pages. It must've been very hard for him to say farewell to the love of his life and to keep his sanity in all the difficulties that followed for him. I appreciate his courage to write this amazing book and to share his life with us. Thank you!

Grief, Love, and Other Light Topics by Roy Faulkner was a very nice read. The author wrote gorgeous poems about his wife and how he went through the grieving process. This book can help a lot of people who are going through the same thing and I encourage all of them to read it. The author shows the good the bad and the ugly but also shows that with faith it is possible to heal oneself.

Grief can change a person a lot. I know it first hand. In this book I found a person who had found the strength to keep his faith and to be thankful about what he has in the midst of losing his life partner and struggling with health issues. I recommend the poetry book to all who are or had been in his shoes.

Poetry is very close to my heart and when I find a new poet that I like I'm very excited. This is the case with Roy Faulkner. I loved how he entangled his life in the poems and showed vulnerability and the reality of grief. Not the loud, over-the-top type of grief but the quiet sorrow, the real one. I recommend it. Keep writing, Roy Faulkner!

The book was well written, the poems had story and it was fascinating to read about the author's experience and marriage. I'm sorry he lost his wife and I wish him to overcome the pain. I'm sure this isn't easy especially after so many years and shared moments.

A fantastic collection of poems. The author had written them with a lot of sentiment and it shows in each and every one of them. The pain that he feels is mixed with joy from the life he had with his wife. It is a heavy read but is worth it. I recommend.

The author had a stable and joyous marriage that he immortalized in these poems. He's sharing a beautiful story. At the loss of his wife he felt lost but yet he found the strength to write, to live, and to help other people who go through the same. I absolutely recommend the book.

The poems are well written and emotional - for this, I can rate it with 5 stars. But what bothered me was some of the statements and the repetitiveness. I think if the book was let's say 30% less, it would be perfect. Anyway, I appreciated the author and would read more from him.
