Terrible, terrible, terrible. This book only serves to reinforced moronic stereotypes about the transcommunity as well as presenting hugely gendered images of the two transprotagonists. Not only was it politically offensive it was also just not particularly well written and had a pretty obvious concludion. Skip it.

It's been a while since I read a book by the very talented creator of "Reggie Perrin" but he's lost none of his talent to amuse. Surprisingly sympathetic to the subject matter his two protagonists are quite memorable as they seek gender realignment and come to terms with a world that gradually accepts them for themselves. The usual gallery of minor memorable characters, the idiocies of daily life and the customary neat turn of phrase are all there. Great fun ... but also quite touching
