At some points I felt like this should be a movie, but the ending was so upsetting! Loved having a non-white female protagonist in the West, but it seemed like her agency was taken away in favor of the perspective of the hapless Dobbin Colby, who could have been a stronger character, but didn’t get the chance to be.
