She was taking a calculated risk

And Selina knew it when she returned to the Greek islands just three years after that traumatic summer.

She told herself that with the Aegean Sea between them, there would be little chance of meeting Alex Petrides--the man who had so nearly changed the course of her life.

But Alex was the reason Selina had been drawn irresistibly back to Greece. Would she ever be able to break free from him--or was she destined to remain always in his power....

Hero gave up his chance to lock down the much younger heroine into marriage because he realized she had great artistic talent. He broke her heart without explaining.

Now a successful artist, the heroine visits her dear old dad on a remote Greek island to find the hero ready to pick up where they left off. An OW and a sailing competition finally win her over.

(It's been a few days since I read this, so my memory is hazy.)

First Harlequin where the golddigging hall of famer isn’t the OW, it’s the heroine’s dad: He stole his daughter’s dowry to live it up and only decided to return it when he met a rich widow. I mean, really!

I'm not sure on what planet its ok to marry a 17 year old these days but it worked because the h ran away and ignored the H for a 3 years.
She ventures back to Greece but accidently on purpose ends up back with the H because despite her thoughts he never lost sight of where she was.
This H you can tell is smitten with the h, he is actually a pretty decent H and doesn't force her to do anything she doesn't want to do other than return to his house.
He may live with his family but they've all been told to be nice or else, because he has forced her to return. Not only that he has been celibate! Sure he was mortified his wife of a couple of hours had run out on him and he dated but this was so the press didn't get wind of their marriage as they would hound her. It's a novel excuse for dating but on this occasion I believed him and his celibacy.
Hero has always lurved the h he just needed her to grow up to love him.
