Developed by the Army Physical training Corps, this is the first official guide to getting as fit as a recruit in the British Army and is based on the actual exercises and activities the Army uses to train its soldiers.
This book is full of good straightforward and sensible advice. Each of the 12 week plans seem like they are feasible. I galloped through it in just under 2 days. Which is good going for me. It should be noted that this guide skews more towards the beginner than an experienced athlete. As someone who is somewhere between the two I found it enjoyable and easy to read.
Great book for anyone thinking about joining the armed forces. The training plans are spot on and very similar to what we actually do. My only small gripe is that week two jumps straight into 2×10 pull-ups - which is pretty tough for someone at level 1!
