I've been doing yoga since the 1970s. That was back when the teachers actually taught yoga. Nowadays, they mostly just teach stretching using yoga postures. Those are two entirely different things. This is a little book free of yoga philosophy, which is good for those who simply want the wonderful physical benefits of the practice. So it teaches pure stretching, via safe & easy yoga postures, but with a fascinating and extremely useful difference. They are poses that absolutely everybody can do, even a 90-year-old grandpa who has never stretched in his life, and still get a full-body, healthy experience. There is no floor work, so no trying to get up and down, which is great. There is no equipment needed other than a chair for a couple of the postures. And best of all, there is an "at a glance" little poster in the back of the book that you can put up on a kitchen cabinet or bathroom mirror, and do one or two postures at a time throughout the day. This is a wonderful book, makes a wonderful gift!! Kudos to the author for creating this system.
