The Comic History of Rome

Rate this book
Unlike some other reproductions of classic texts (1) We have not used OCR(Optical Character Recognition), as this leads to bad quality books with introduced typos. (2) In books where there are images such as portraits, maps, sketches etc We have endeavoured to keep the quality of these images, so they represent accurately the original artefact. Although occasionally there may be certain imperfections with these old texts, we feel they deserve to be made available for future generations to enjoy.

Harsh reviewers here beneath. It really need not be said guys but the clue is in the name! It neither poses nor feigns any merried height of punching scholarship. It as an easy reader please interpret it as such.

Take your shoes off at the entrance but remember that you are not entering the door of an ivory tower!

At least one pun or other play on words per sentence. I found one sentence with 4 puns in it!

some that I can remember off the top of my head: "the city was razed to the ground; or rather, it was lowered" "built a bridge across the Tiber, thus abridging the city" and similar nonsense.
