Beautiful disaster. The first thing that comes to mind when I think of her. Who hurt you? The first question comes to mind when I open my mouth to greet her. Although it wasn’t the easiest to reach, I knew her heart was pure . Gentle to the touch yet stubborn as a bull, she made it hard to resist her. Unintentionally, she sank her hooks in me . She was the calm before my storm . A thunderous, darkening storm with lightning that graciously exposed the paternity of my brother and me . Though the gloom of it all lingered above both our heads, the winds that accompanied the storm were the breath of fresh air that I needed. Instead of the hovering clouds producing gazillions of little droplets of rain, they showered me with new siblings, nieces, nephews, sister-in-laws, and brother-in-laws . For so long, it had just been me, my mother, my cousins, and my brother. But, then there was her and eventually, them. Simultaneously, I found my father and my forever . And, I was ready for whatever when it came down to them both. Victim of my despair. That’s what I believe him to be. Why must you continue hurting yourself to love me? It’s the question I desperately want to ask the man who sees no flaws in such a flawed woman. Persistent, he was – unintentionally making it most difficult to bury my trauma . Forgetting the past and what it had done to me wasn’t easy. I lived with the consequences of it all each and every day. But, him, he made me want to . The issue was, I couldn’t. Not for him. Not for me. Not for our future. So, instead of stringing him along, I prayed each day that he’d find someone to fill the void that his heart must’ve suffered from because I couldn’t. But, he didn’t want anyone else . He wanted me. I just didn’t have myself to give. Not to him… and not even to me .

Me: Ain’t nobody topping Luca
Grey: Hold my beer

Baby!!!! Here are your flowers 💐💐💐 because you wrote Ledge with your whole mf soul! I had to let this book marinate with my spirit before I could even formulate a review. When I say “I want to feel” when I’m reading a story, 🗣️ THIS IS WHAT TF I MEAN!! This is one of those book where I want to tell y’all everything about the book but also nothing at all😩😩

Ledge, sir!!! If you want to be everything a woman needs just say that!!! Ledge is a book character that you can never get enough of and honestly wouldn’t want to. He came into Halo’s life when she was dealing with some deep CRIPPLING trauma. She endured something that robbed years from her life and here comes Ledge effortlessly ready to resuscitate her! My Man was a walking defibrillator just ready to bring life back to Halo’s heart at a moments notice. This was such a complex story and will definitely take you on the ride of your life. Just when you think Grey can’t possible top herself she proves why she’s the ☝🏽 and not the ✌🏽! You are doing yourself a SERIOUS disservice by not reading the Eisenberg and now Domino series!

This review wouldn’t be complete with out mentioning that Lawe and Laike are two WHOLE fools and Channing better watch out because neither of them have a single screw between them! Luca and Ever!!!!! I meeeannnnn!!!!! These two will FOREVER be my favs! The way they show up for their circle is uncanny!!! Ugh my heart can’t take these two!! I loved everything about LEDGE and I can’t wait to see what LAWE has in store for us.

Ledge! This guy was a true carbon copy of his big brother Luca….Although, he is a twin…his character truly reflects his big brother’s….This guy was totally committed to the well being and mental health of Halo….once he met her and discovered things about her past trauma….the only thing he wanted to do was make it better….This was such a great couple….I was surprised though Kamber wasn’t more involved in the story, since she too was committed to Halo’s healing….I’m wondering if we will hear more from her….perhaps Lowe’s new love interest in the next installment of the Domino Effect🤔…..

Halo x Ledge

This story was nothing like I read before. It was a somber, dark, yet beautiful story about redeeming love and family. Before I continue, I must say, can't nobody write a story like Grey Huffington. She manages to create some of the most lovable characters. Broken, trauma filled, but so lovable, with the biggest hearts. They're real, they're raw and they pull at your heart…whether through the drama or love they share with one another.

Listen, Liam couldn't deny Ledge and Lawe if he wanted to. He saw his sons with Laura and their personalities and decided he's just gonna copy and paste for the twins. Especially Lawe and Laike. One and the same.

Ledge is the epitome of patience and 🥰😍. I love that even though he exudes kindness and patience and love, he will speak his mind and his truth. Even to Halo…Halo, poor, poor sweet beautiful Halo. Her past was tragic and heartbreaking in the most unimaginable way and left her with crippling anxiety. My heart broke for her. But I have to be honest. There are times I gave her a little side-eye. Not because of her trauma. Definitely not victim-blaming her. Only because to me it didn't seem like she was trying to heal. I didn't find her proactive enough. And I know it's probably not fair to even expect that of her with the amount and level of trauma she was dealt with. But she expressed the desire to be free, but it seems like she didn't really make any move towards that. Another possibly unpopular opinion, I felt things were moving way too fast between her and Ledge. It didn't seem to me like she was in no way, shape or form ready for all the major life changing things that happened between them. She has proven that a couple times in the book in the way she responded to some things that happened. Especially with Ledge.
Please, if I'm wrong about that, somebody help me see and understand. But I loved her. I loved her innocence, I loved how sweet she is. I loved how much love she had to offer and how much she craved it. Kamber was so sweet to her. I wanted more of them. Way more than what I got. She had a major role in the beginning but seems like she fizzled out throughout the story.
And every time it seems like I could possibly forget how freaking amazing Ever and Luca are, Grey finds a way to remind me. (Forever my fave couple).
I definitely enjoyed this story, even though it was a bit dark. I felt like the end was rushed but I loved it and I highly recommend this book. Just read with caution. Can't wait for Lawe's shenanigans.

Loving through the Pain

Come er' .... lawd I'm coming Ledge!!!
I could just hear him saying that and it was the sexiest thing!! These Eisenberg men....SHEESH!!

Wow this book was much deeper than I expected it to be. Ledge was calm, cool, and collected, his demeanor mirroring Luca's and I was here for it!! They had similar physical features as well, but Ledge was tall, dark, and handsome. He was 35 and had managed to avoid real relationships, until one night he runs into his future, Halo. Despite the way the night ended, he felt a connection with her. Life is lifing and with the loss of their mother, they gain an entire amazing family, The Eisenbergs. Fate brings Halo back into his orbit and he knows he missed out on something special with her. After contemplating a situation he realizes, Halo is about to be in his life forever. What he didn't know is that Halo wasn't ready for forever with anyone. Her past, her terrible unimaginable horrific past had left her with a crippling fear. She felt damaged, weird, and had alienated herself from others to ensure her own safety. She wanted so badly to be one of those confident beauties, but her mind just wouldn't allow it. The way Ledge carefully, patiently approached her and their situation let me know he was made for her. Their relationship was hard, and a lesser man didn't stand a chance, but Ledge was willing to weather the storms by her side.
I loved the cameos from the family. Especially Luca and Ever, my faves always bring wisdom and love to every situation and they proved to be extremely loving and valuable to Ledge and Halo. Lawe and Laike can we say hot mess city, I can't wait to read Lawe's book. I will say I wanted more of Papa Liam, I feel like his get some act right speech was needed.
I was not ready for this to end. It was definitely worth the wait. And YES I binged this book like a Netflix series and I have no shame.

The Domino Effect is here!

*UPDATE: check the comments of this review! Great dialogue and I will probably revisit this book and review with new eyes in the future!❤️*

This story started off soo heavy and honestly I wasn’t sure if I was ready for a book like this. Halo was going through it and dealing with soo much out of her control. Ledge coming off finding his dad and dealing with his twin brothers craziness there no way to add more to the mix but he does when he falls for Halo. He reads her like a book and while their love story wasn’t traditional it was theirs. At times I felt like their story was moving too fast or that Halo wasn’t taking the time to truly heal. After discussing with a friend who was also reading I glossed over the little cues of Grey Huffington showing us the progress Halo was making to heal by the random classes she was taking to be “normal”. Very small details that I had almost forgotten was happening throughout the time since she moved in with her grandmother and had been on her own. While I did enjoy this story and a different take on love it’s not my favorite in the series for their love story but I did enjoy the family cameos and bonding that took place in this book and is setting up for Lawe’s book. Him and Laike’s bond is something I’m looking forward to reading more of. The third act break up I also didn’t care to much for because it was sooo much they were still working through. If Grey wants us to keep Luca on a pedestal just say that lmao! Overall this love story was different and very unique. Something that will sit with me a bit and may even have me coming back to adjust my review. For now this book is a 4 and I do think it’s a good addition to the series, but just not the love story for me.

Grey, just how? How do you continually create these men over and over, that top the man in the book right before him? I am just stunned! I loved Luca, then Laike bumped him from his spot, now Ledge. Yes! Ledge now has the top spot, cause Lawe is too crazy, and I ain't even read his book yet! 😂
I wasn't sure what to expect with this one, after the revelation in Liam's book. Whew! You have managed to stir up all of my emotions at once and forced me to sit in them until I finished this book!
Ledge has to be one of the most patient, understanding, caring and loving people on the planet! 🥰 When he met Halo, he knew that something was very different about her, drawing him to her. He had no idea what he was in for when he pursued Halo; but if anyone could handle it, he could! Poor Halo! You cry with her after learning of the horrific things that she endured during her childhood! 💔 Her fear of going outside was palpable, and I wondered if/how she would be able to overcome her trauma.
Little by little she allowed Ledge into her space, and he was adamant about helping her heal. Along with the tribe of the Eisenberg women. I loved how Liam, Luca and eventually Laike, embraced Ledge and Lawe into the fold. Liam must have some strong ass genes, to have two sets of boys with similar features, and the same temperaments and personalities. That damn Laike and Lawe are going to cause hell together! 😂 I held my breath several times when Halo got in her head and began spewing hurtful words to Ledge. I thought I know he understands her situation, but how much more can he take? Then Jade pulls that ole thirsty ish, and I'm like awe hell, here we go! Halo is right back at square one! However, we were able to receive redemption, love and continued healing in the end. Loved this one! 👍👍👍

4.5 Stars

I was just introduced to this author a couple of months ago by a few friends here on goodreads. I am so glad that they did, she is becoming one of my favorites. After reading the Eisenberg series, I was expecting something a little lighter and more upbeat. This one was a heavy hitter: it really gripped my heart, and I thought that I would be crying throughout.

Ledge was a saint, the level of patience he had when dealing with Halo and her trauma was admirable. I don't know if I would have made it a fraction of the way through. I would like to congratulate Halo on the🍆 being the first fear to overcome. What did Ledge say? "Eight months ago, she was busting it open at my crib". Exceptional 🍆 is good for the soul. I loved the depth of Ledge's character and the emotional maturity that he possessed. He was more like Luca then his actual twin. I also loved the way he was a gentleman but still talked that talk and had that BDE in the bedroom. What a man, what mighty good man... in my off key En Vogue voice.

Lawe and Laike are carbon copies of each other. I enjoyed the witty banter and humor between the two as well as him and Lyric. I would love to be friends and hang out with the trio, I bet I would be laughing for days. I can't wait for Lawe's book and to find out who his love interest will be. May can't get here fast enough.

In the beginning of the book as I learned about Halo, her past and present trauma I began to feel like she was overtaking the story. It was starting to feel like more of her story than their story. I wished that we had just a little more of Ledge getting to know his new family and their dynamic. I also feel like Kamber got played to the background once Halo let Ledge in. I'm not sure how that happened, she played a very vital role in Halo's life in the beginning. I thought that maybe Kamber and Halo together would get to know Ever, Lyric and Baisleigh. Halo opened up to them so fast but still hadn't let Kamber all the way in for the six or so years that they've been knowing each other.

This book ended too soon for me. I know that Grey likes instant gratification and prefers to keep them short, but I felt like the ending was somewhat rushed. Hopefully we will get a glimpse of them Lawe's book and get some clarity on where the two landed after the proposal.

Girl, you better marry Ledge

And If Halo doesn't marry Ledge, I will. At the beginning of this story, I was worried and anxious with the initial introduction. The way we met Halo nearly broke my heart. Then to later see her living like a hermit was another low point for me; it hit hard. Having her feisty neighbor Kamber advocate for her was too much fun. I was happy to see her anytime. The one night when her friend Kamber talked Halo into going outside will be the best thing ever for Halo. The side story with Ledge meeting his siblings was a great experience. I enjoyed watching the family dynamics expand. And all the babies... Laura was missing in this story for some reason; I thought her presence was needed. I think Ledge might be my new favorite boo. And the other Eisenbergs did their thing as always. I'm ready to see what Lawe is talking about next.

WHEW… I’ll be back to give my review. Wow!!

Okay!!! Just when I thought no one in this family could take Luca's place, in comes Ledge. I LOVED him. Him having the amount of patience he had and being a protector did it for me!! I was in love. lol I was not prepared for how heavy this book was, which is why it took me a little longer to read than I thought. The heaviness did not take away from how amazing the book was though. I could definitely see me reading about this entire family again. I can't get enough of them. I can't was to read about Lawe's craziness. It's like the twins should have been Luca/Ledge and Laike/Lawe.

Halo's story broke my heart. I'm so glad she eventually was willing to do the work to get better.

I really didn’t connect as much with the other two books and Ledge was no different. However, I did have a few things that worked. As usual, the family dynamics warmed my heart. The Eisenberg clan as a unit is always a joy to see. As a MMC, I liked Ledge. He stood ten toes down with Halo and never wavered. His patience is admirable and I love his decisive nature. With that being said the pacing of this book is off. Nothing worthwhile happened the first 50 percent of this book other than insufferable first person inner thoughts and unnecessary dialogue that didn’t move the story forward. The romance is literally nonexistent in this story. This story felt like it should’ve been named Halo because her illness overshadowed Ledge’s plan to pursue her so they really didn’t spend any time together developing a bond. I mean she went from not allowing Ledge inside the house to popping plans b’s and it gave me whiplash. I honestly felt the first 50 percent of the book really neglected to attempt to build that bond. Therapy for Halo should’ve been introduced earlier in this book and it definitely should’ve been on page. Sometimes she was draining and I feel seeing her actively make an effort to heal would’ve given me more insight into her as a person and what she was going through. It just came off as she didn’t care and wanted to be difficult. This book needed more pages of fleshed out details because key aspects of this story were missing. It also needed an extra chapter before the epilogue. I mean a bar code for deleted scenes when it could’ve been addressed with additional editing to cut the unnecessary dialogue? Nah. Overall, This book as a whole didn’t work for me and it was a huge let down. I’m a fan of the author’s work so I will wait patiently for the next installment of this series. Lawe is a hot mess!

First, let me start this review off by saying Halo got on my last nerves for the entirety of this book, I mean down to the last page. I wanted to shake some sense into her so many times. And while I can empathize with the trauma that she went through I can’t for the life of me understand or agree with how she moved!! It made zero sense to me. No way you go through all of that trauma and you don’t seek help before you seek 🍆.

Enter the saving grace of this book, and that is the man himself Ledge! Lord this man’s patience is top-tier, to deal with Halo ass, omg.

Ledge immediately felt a connection to Halo and was drawn to her beauty and her shy spirit. Of course, he wasn’t expecting all of the trauma that she had went through but he did not let that fold him. He stood 10 toes down!!!! Ledge is the definition of when a man wants to do something he will do it, no matter how difficult it is! He proved himself!!

Ever and Luca are still my favs, I love how Ever showed up for Halo and give her a gift she REALLY NEEDED which was THERAPY! Healing is so important and I was happy to see Halo get it together even if it took her the entire book, we all know it be like that sometimes. Healing isn’t easy.

Y’all what are we going to do with Laike and Lawe?! 😂 😝 these two are wild AF! Channing better watch out because it’s two loons on the loose 🤣🤣

I liked it a lot, but... RTC

4+ "Let me love you." Stars!

I absolutely loved it right up until 4 stars! The story was wonderful. The writing was questionable. Way too many words, IMO. But the spoiler aside, I adored this story. Ledge was too good to be true. Halo, I just wanted to hug her and hold her until she knew how valuable she was. Which is kind of what Ledge did. Happy reading.

4.5 ⭐️ I had to take a break after finishing this book last night. Grey has a way of making each character unique while still keeping the siblings similar. Ledge was such a man very much BDE. He entered Halo's life at a time when she was struggling with a troubling deep trauma. She went through something that cost her years of life, and Ledge shows up effortlessly willing. I could tell Ledge was created for her because of the way he addressed her and their predicament with care and patience. A weaker guy would not have stood a chance in their difficult relationship, but Ledge was prepared to be by her side through the rough patches. This experience was made genuine by Halo's shortcomings and advancements. Since she hasn't left the house in years and struggles with trust, I genuinely believe she tried and deserves grace. Although I believe having a child provided her the push she required, I appreciate how Grey still shows how far she has come. Ledge fuckup just showed how human and flawed he was and I believe it was needed. This was a lovely story, though I don't think she should have gotten engaged so quickly as she still had stuff to sort out. I felt like the ending was incomplete. Seeing the other siblings and characters made the ride through this intricate story, even more

He replaced Luca y'all. I can't make it up. I might just go and reread Luca just to apologize. But I digress. I wasn't sure how to apporach the books. But I was thoroughly impressesed. He took everything in stride when it came to Halo. His love was so patient and I am sucker for slow, and constantly present love.

10/10 Would recommend.

P.S: I can't wait for Lawe's story. He and Laike need some brother-brother time. 😭

I’m not sure why this book is rated so high. There was no plot. I finished it for book club but almost DNF. Ledge is a good man but this book annoyed me through and through. Found out after reading that this was book 6 in a series which maybe describes the lack of story telling. This book almost reminded me of fantasy because it was so unrealistic. Extra star for the sex scenes, but even those were lack luster. The prologue was probably my favorite. This book was predictable and a snooze.

WHEW!!!!!! Baby they took me through it one minute I’m all smiles and feeling all the feels next, I’m mad, them I’m cussing, and then I’m ready to knock them both upside they heads because WTF!!!!!!

They take us through it but watching how love prevails and wins was truly worth all the emotions. This was one hell of a ride but needed to see the growth between both Laike and Baisleigh.

Every part of Ledge and Halo’s love story was not with out it’s emotional turmoil and trauma but the HEA in the end was well deserved!! Praying Grey blesses us with an update!!

Sweet Halo

Halo really pulled at my heart strings. I was so proud of her for every step she took towards her healing. She was deserving of all the love Ledge and the Eisenbergs had to give her. And I love how the brothers handled that “nightmare” for her.

Everything I Need and More

Ledge (The Domino Effect #1) by Grey Huffington is about bar owner Ledge Domino and remote marketing manager Halo SaraBella. Let me start off by saying, Wow! Grey Huffington has done it again! Ledge is that man! He’s an Eisenberg through and through! Halo experienced life altering trauma during childhood to adolescence. As an adult she challenges herself to get out the house! On the day she works up the nerve to do something different she meets Ledge! It’s destiny, it’s fate, the stars align and all the other good life altering things! Even though Halo is anxious and nervous, sparks fly and chemistry boils over! I just love Ledge, he’s ready to receive Halo just as she is, he’s 10 toes down! His patience, support, his thirst for knowledge on her phobia and his understanding of boundaries are to be commended. He isn’t afraid to wear his heart on his sleeve for Halo. Ledge definitely takes after his big brother Luca. Halo has been through so much and although she runs sometimes when it comes down to it she risks it all for love 🥰 I appreciated how realistic the challenges Halo and Ledge faced in their relationship. As always Grey does an exceptional job with the female friendships, from Halo’s relationship with her bff/neighbour Kamber to her newly built relationship with Ever (Ledge’s sister-in-law). The family dynamics were everything, it was amazing to see the Eisenberg’s again! This is a really sweet story, one of hope, love and light! I didn’t want to let these characters go.

P.s. I can’t wait for Lawe’s story, he a mess!

If more than 5 stars were an option, Ledge deserves it!

I loved this book from beginning to end. The pain and heartbreak baby Halo suffered was unimaginable. The way she chose to isolate and protect herself was very understandable to me. I wish her neighbor friend had more of a presence in this story because she played a pivotal role in Halo's healing. I loved the way the family rallied around and surrounded both the twins and Halo with love and support. This was a phenomenal read. Lawe and Laike being the true twins tickled me. I love them and can't wait for Lawe's story. Hopefully Bianca isn't in it🙏🏽
Also, I could see Jade from the very beginning.

Boy that Ledge 😻😻

I don't even know where to start. That dang Ledge had a way about him. Just the way he carried. The way he communicated. If he was nothing else, he was intentional and unrelenting when it came to what he wanted. As much as I wanted to be frustrated with Halo, I understand and empathize with her. Healing the trauma from past demons isn't as simple as snapping your fingers and everything being ok. She went through a lot. I'm just glad that Ledge had the patience and didn't give up on her. I'm not going to lie, I thought his reaction to finding out about the baby was going to be completely different. Also, seeing the support from his new family was nice. I'm glad Lawe stubborn behind came around too. I have a feeling his story is about to be a headache but I'm ready

I ❤️ Ledge

From the start I loved Ledge. He absolutely loved Halo through everything she had going on. Hall was so broken from the events that happened to her as a child. Halo knew from the moment he saw her that she was his person. He loved on Halo so much. He continued to learn to work with her hang ups and flare ups of emotions. He took the time to learn about her and the ways to care for her. I thought he had messed up close to the end but I’m so happy that it wasn’t what I thought. Grey Huffington does it again with this book. Can’t wait to see what Lawe has to bring because him and Laike interactions had me cracking up.

I really enjoyed Ledge and Halo’s story. Ledge was such a patient, steady presence, and I truly felt for Halo and everything she endured. Their relationship was heartfelt. My only gripe was the ending. I think the epilogue would’ve worked better as the last chapter, with a true epilogue set further in the future. Ledge and Halo’s story was tender, emotional, and worth the ride.
