A biologist puts his mutated strain of oil-eating bacteria up for sale - and Allah's Blade wants it. Once introduced into the hold of a supertanker, the bacteria will swiftly contaminate the ship's priceless cargo.
Hiring L.A. thugs as muscle, the terrorists destroy a tanker of oil off the West Coast, and the President quickly orders his Able Team warriors to California.
When a wounded Carl Lyons is captured, his colleagues are left with one course of action: they must deliver a lethal burst of 9 mm slugs with Allah's name stamped on every one.
Closer to a 3.5, has a lot of action but sometimes it's hard to remember who is who and exactly what is going on. The author is Larry Lind, who is not someone I know from the Bolanverse of books, though he does an adequate job. Plotwise it has a lot going on, double crosses on top of double cross. Basically a Muslim terror group has broken away from the Libyans, who are in a brotherhood with Russians. The terror group is trying to sell a oil destroying bacteria to the Brotherhood using a street gang as backup, only this gang are being paid by the Brotherhood as well. Like I said it gets complicated. Oh and Lyons, Able Team's leader in the field is blinded and taken hostage. A rip off of a similar turn in an earlier Phoenix Force book.
Recommended for fans of the genre, it never slows down on the action though sometimes I forgot who was who.
Able Team has an all too real brush with death and Hass to grapple with their own mortality while stopping three gangs of terrorists bent on destroying the oil assets owned by the United States.
