Many think that happiness, like success, comes from getting what they want. But new evidence from positive psychology suggests that happiness is something else, or at least something more. Presenting surprisingly practical wisdom in a playful and entertaining format, Rob Mack delivers a simple-to-follow instruction manual, based in both science and personal experience, for living a happier, healthier, and wealthier life, starting today.
Mack describes eight tried-and-true principles for realizing unconditional happiness and achieving the unparalleled success that comes with it. With a little effort, anyone — regardless of current circumstances — can discover new levels of joy and contentment on the inside and live a wonderfully prosperous and abundant life on the outside.
Happiness is an attitude. Yes, some people are born happy and seem to have everything handed to them on a silver platter. The rest of us struggle. Everyday, we deplete our energy just to get through the day.
Happiness from the Inside Out looks at how attitude can affect the way we see the world and the choices we make. The premise is good. Realists may see the world more correctly but they don’t feel happier and aren’t more successful than optimists. It gives food for thought.
This is a very easy to read inspiring book. I would especially recommend this book to people who might be a bit intimidated by "self help" books because Robert's style is very down to earth and everything he suggests is powerful yet simple.
Awesome book. Lots of wisdom in these pages and the author does an excellent job making it enjoyable with personal stories and examples. My biggest takeaway is that happiness stems from within ones self. Your emotions are descendants of your thoughts. Focus on the positive, embrace adversity, and work on the relationship you have with yourself. Be kind to yourself, speak kindly about yourself, be optimistic, and appreciate what you have in the here and now.
Fantastic book! Happiness from the Inside Out reads like a friend offering great advise. I found Rob Mack's book to be engaging and well-thought-out. The 8 simple principles will dramatically change your life. Real happiness is achievable and I highly recommend reading this book to begin your journey of self-fulfillment.
Love reading books on happiness. Also love that the author had a stint in Miami, my hometown, where I have returned after 24 years to teach happiness.
I loved it all - the quotes - who does not love quotes - and I found some new ones that really resonated: "Money may be the husk of many things, but not the kernel....." by Henrik Ibsen. So good!
