I prefer Sisson's and Meier's Primal Blueprint Cookbook, but this one has some good ideas as well. I don't know if it is Landolphi's background as a chef, or the fact that I'm still not 100% confident and familiar with some dishes like the ones I've been making for years (since I've only made them a handful of times as opposed to dozens of times), but I feel like some of the recipes in this book are a bit high maintenance and time consuming. But don't get me wrong - they're quite good and very worth it. It's just sometimes you don't have the time. I saw that Landolphi released a followup cookbook to this one, entitled Quick-Fix Gluten Free, which makes me wonder if he emphasized the "Quick Fix" a little more and included some less high-maintenance dishes.

This was...ok. Not great. Very basic recipes, most of which can be found almost identically in other cookbooks (chicken breast coated in potato chip crumbs, roasted garlic mashed potatoes), and several that were gluten-free because they call for purchased gluten-free items. If the only change to a recipe is that I'm buying gluten-free crackers instead of regular crackers, I don't need a recipe for that. Same with tortillas, pasta, etc. I'm sure it'll be great for some people's needs, just not for mine.

Since going wheat-free I have been looking for recipes that are just as good as the originals. This cookbook is amazing! And the author/chef is from UConn. ;-)
