On her birthday Fuchsia receives a great surprise—a pretty new hat with a magic fairy inside! The fairy tells Fuchsia to close her eyes and make a special wish . . . and before Fuchsia knows it, she has three cute new friends to play with—Pigoh, Fwoggy, and Meowse! The friends play all day until it is time for bed. As she drifts off to sleep, Fuchsia knows her friends will return the next day. All she has to do is say the magic words, "THE FUCHSIA IS NOW!"

34 books40 followersAmerican artist and children's book creator. With no formal art training, he was able to sneak into the art world during the "outsider art" craze of the 1990s. His book Mr. Lunch Takes a Plane Ride, published by Viking in 1993, was the first children's picture book to be created with digital media. His 1997 book Olive, the Other Reindeer led to an animated television special of the same name.
His art has been shown at Mass MOCA, Deitch Projects NYC, The Getty LA, Contemporary Jewish Museum SF, Grass Hut Portland, MOCA LA, The Yerba Buena Center for the Arts SF, Gallery Paule Anglim SF, Oakland Museum CA, Juxtapoz Gallery Detroit, and Galerie Impare in Paris. He has done freelance illustration for years including clients such as Nike, Time Warner, Girl Skateboards, Pixar, Comcast, Giant Robot, Target, TiVo, 826 Detroit, Quaker Oats, Fox Entertainment, Gnu Skateboards, Swatch, and Nordstrom.
His book Penguin Dreams was named a New York Times "Best Illustrated Book". Mr. Lunch Takes a Plane Ride won a Cuffie Award from Publisher's Weekly; Mr. Lunch won for most memorable character in a lead role. Going to the Getty won an Art Directors Club Illustration Award. Olive, the Other Reindeer was a New York Times Bestseller and the movie version was nominated for an Emmy Award.

On fuchsia birthday she got a pink hat for her birthday. The pink hat had a little fairy. the fairy granted all her wishes when she say the fuchsia is now. the fairy gave her a pink pig a green frogand a talking mouse. fuchsia played with all her friends. i really like this book.

Fuchsia is Now is a cute, but weird book. There are cute characters, however the book is short and seems unfinished. It repeats itself, but not in the cute rhythm way. The illustrations are a little weird, however, they are colorful and could grab the attention of preschoolers.

The book was weird but cute. Although the hat did look inappropriate. Overall, it was a cute story about with interesting characters. It was also short and felt unfinished.

The art is cute, the characters names (Pigoh, Fwoggy, and Meowse) are ULTRA CUTE, but there is no substance to book. I don't think this book is meant to serve up substance, so it's fine. I just personally thirst for some sort of substance in every book I read, and this is solely fuchsia fluff.

I personally did NOT like this book. My daughter liked the fuchsia in it and all the variations. She even asked me why wasn't she fuchsia before going to sleep. She didn't follow through the story with interest as she does with other books. So this is a no-no book.

A lot of color can be found on the thick pages. She gets a hat and a wish for her birthday. Talking animals, pigoh, fwoggy and meouse are part of the friend wish.
