Sometimes what you wish for is not as good as what you already have.

The book opens with a question. It's supposed to make students think about the theme of the story.

A guy likes his girlfriend’s personality, but he's not physically attracted to her. It starts to bother him.

As he waits for his girlfriend he meets an attractive stranger who knows him quite well, but he has never met her.

Upon showing her a photographer of his girlfriend he looks at the photo and can't believe his eyes-

the beautiful stranger has replaced his girlfriend in it!

How would you react in this situation?

Sometimes what you have is better than what you wish for.

This is a good short story and a simple lesson.

There were some editing mistakes in this book which should be fixed if it's to be used educationally, but overall it's good.

At the end of the book are a set of questions for student readers and a writing practice.

Another addition to this exceptional series.

An interesting tale highlighting the pitfalls of being too shallow. Other than a random “Chapter 4” heading on page 9, the story is well-written, as I’ve come to expect from this series. As always, there are stimulating questions posed before and after the actual story, that would be perfect for solo contemplation or group discussion. An ideal book for the classroom.

I love this whole series. The stories are sharp and thought-provoking. The questions, both before and after the story, provide topics to chew over no matter the age of the reader. Books like “Baby Shopping” should be a standard in schools. Keep them coming!

The same great learning features of this series, but needs editing.

It’s another interesting shorty story with the engaging language learning features expected in this series. I had to drop a star because the lack of editing is a little distracting.
