R to L (Japanese Style). Not knowing it's the solution to her curse, Yako thinks that Rasetsu's quest for a boyfriend seems frivolous. Nothing's trivial about Rasetsu's next exorcism, however, especially when she's suddenly overpowered by the emotions of the spirit!

Sorry I didn't post the review here a few months ago, I just forgot. I thought I already posted it here, but apparently I didn't.

I read this book a few days ago, and I've read volume 3 as well, so I know what's going to happen next. I know I said that this review would be up last week, but I didn't have time to type up the review than.

In the second volume bit becomes ever more evident that Kuryu is only working with the agency to be closer to Rasetsu and to make sure she doesn't get hurt - everyone else had better watch out for themselves. He even experiments with his kotodama power to tell Rasetsu exactly how he feels, she really is moved by it, too - but thinks he's just making fun of her: the age difference has her treat him much more like a big brother.

Yako learns that Rasetsu will probably get taken by a demon when she's

Trigger warning: The demon's assault on 15-year-old Rasetsu has always had a very clear subtext of sexual assault, but it becomes even more direct in V2 when we get a longer flashback. The staging is very much as rape.

Also, in some ways Rasetsu reminds me of Veronica Mars. Though we haven't gotten enough pre-assault Rasetsu to be sure of how severely her affect changed.

this is why i try to review things right after reading them; i read this two nights ago and i cannot remember a thing

flipping through real quick now i see this is the rasetsu backstory volume

not a whole lot that's new about her but a bit more about her relationship with kuryu so that's neat

I think one of the elements I will continue to like in later volumes of this series are the humorous situations. The first volume had it and now this one too. I'm referring to the chapter in which Kuryu uses his kotodama experimentally. Also, got to see some much coveted backstory. It makes me wonder about Kuryu. Anyway, I liked volume two of Rasetsu and will be getting vol. three.

Another fabulous volume for a fabulous series. I'm too gushy to think straight.

Ah...slow romance build-up-how I've missed you....Come back to YA won't you? :P
