Despite not having a wildly appealing cover, as is usual for 1960s Ladybird books, this is well-written, informative and very educational. Kids of 1965 must've been a clever lot as I only had a vague understanding of half of this and had never heard of several of 'common' insects. Perhaps we don't see them in UK any more? As one might expect, a book all about insects isn't necessarily the most exciting thing you'll ever read, but in 50 pages, you will probably learn quite a bit. 4.75/5
