this is a great addition to Foster's Celetration of Disciplines. A collection of short articles, excerpts, and sermons from the great Christian writers over the ages. Four articles for each discipline, with author bio, scripture, and Foster's recap. Good read at a slow pace or in occasional bursts.

Not the best study guide ever, but there were good questions for my small group discussions.
I only went through the first quarter, which is meant to be read with the first read through the book. This study guide is to be meant to be read over an entire year. It has served my purpose to get me through my summer book study, but I'm hoping to pick it up again at a later date.

Did Not Finish
December 21, 2007Unfortunately this journal workbook was not nearly as well made or helpful as I'd hoped. I worked along for the first 6-8 disciplines, but then realised I was getting nothing out of it, which mostly just made it a waste of time. A shame.

I have read this at least THREE times and always find myself applying the suggestions and improving my spiritual life. A Must-read!

August 1, 2012Thoroughly enjoyed this book. Really helped me examine how the disciplines in the Bible are being played out in my life. Offered me the opportunity to review, renew and refresh my life.
