What is it about the wrong man that feels so right?
Enticed by Stephanie Bond As if attorney Kimber Karlton's life wasn't stressful enough, she's a day late and a boat short for her own romantic getaway at a secluded island retreat. Enter rugged rogue Finn Meyers: ship's captain, jungle guide...sex god.
Propositioned by Leslie Kelly Liz Talbot left her cheating husband and demanding career to tend bar in St. Lucia, and nothing could lure her back. Even handsome millionaire Jack Beaumont and his propositions-- business and otherwise--can't tempt her...or can they?
Fevered by Lori Wilde Investigative journalist Macy Gatwick wants Armando Cutler so badly she can taste it. For a story, of course--a juicy exposé about the corporate wunderkind's exile to Costa Rica. But her objectivity and inhibitions dissolve amidst the steam of the jungle.
USA TODAY bestselling author Stephanie Bond was seven years deep into a systems engineering career and pursuing an MBA at night when an instructor remarked that she had a flair for writing and suggested that she submit to academic journals. But Stephanie, a voracious reader, was only interested in writing fiction–more specifically, romantic fiction.
Upon completing her master’s degree and with no formal training in writing (her undergraduate degree is in computer programming), she started writing a romance novel in her spare time. Two years later in 1995 she sold her first manuscript, a romantic comedy, to Harlequin Books.
In 1997, with ten sales under her belt to two publishers, Stephanie left her corporate job to write women’s romantic fiction full-time. In 2011,
Stephanie launched a self-publishing business. Since that time, she has sold more than 1 million copies of her own books. To-date, Stephanie has published over 70 novels and has over 6 million copies of her work in worldwide distribution in numerous languages and formats.
A very enjoyable anthology of three stories set in island and jungle locations. All the stories were great but I enjoyed Lori Wilde's romantic jungle tale the best! A great summer read!
In Enticed by Stephanie Bond an Atlanta lawyer decides to spend a few romantic days in the Maldives with her boyfriend (that’s supposed to propose according to the practice’s grapevine), but there’s a little cupid out there that do anything to give her a little more time to think about it... Even if that means stranding her on Sri Lanka with a happy-go-lucky pilot/home-builder/captain.
I loved this little story. It was sexy, sweet, a little bit romantic, and a lot fun. Kimber needed to loosen up a little in the beginning, but with Finn’s help she turned out just fine. I wish that it was longer and the ending seemed a bit rushed, but still a 4 ½ star story.
In Propositioned by Leslie Kelly Liz left her life behind to tend bar in St. Lucia, but she never imagined someone from her past would come looking for her.
This wasn't as fun and carefree as the previous story, but it sure was a little steamier. The biggest problem was the heroine and her strange distrust of the hero. She blamed him for something he had nothing to do with, despite knowing what a douche bag her ex was...And she was just as quick to jump to conclusions after almost all was said and done.
A very romantic story, though. 4 stars
In Fevered by Lori Wilde we meet a reporter that’s “only interested in the truth” lying her way to an exclusive interview with a reclusive chemical engineer in the middle of the Costa Rican jungle, with a small stop in his bed.
This was by far the most disappointing story in this anthology. Predictable, without much chemistry, the verbal images of the surroundings were the less descriptive, and the ending (the entire plot, actually) was a bit too “template”. 2 ½ stars
ENTICED by Stephanie Bond Attorney Kimber Karlton is having a stressful time. She's missed her flight to her romantic getaway and now she has to take a chartered plane with rugged rogue and sex god, Finn Meyers.
This was a fun, likeable story with great characters and some real emotion. It really made me smile and was the perfect summer read.
PROPOSITIONED by Leslie Kelly After her messy divorce from her cheating ex, Liz Talbot finds herself tending bar in gorgeous St Lucia and loving it. That is until millionaire Jack Beaumont tracks her down and tempts her with a proposition she isn't sure she can refuse.
Like the first story, this was a summery, sweet and exciting read with great characters, hot sex and the perfect ending.
FEVERED by Lori Wilde Journalist Macy Gatwick is determined to get a promotion by getting the story of the year. She just needs to find Armando Cutler and find out why the corporate whiz suddenly left his job and exiled himself in Costa Rica. But getting stuck with the gorgeous man in a cabin during a tropical storm makes her change her priorities.
This was the weakest story of the three, for me, yet it was still a good read with interesting characters, good dialogue and a sultry setting.
You rarely get a romance anthology where all the stories are strong and enjoyable but they definitely are both in this book. The settings will transport you to hot, sensuous places while the romance will make you sigh. This is the perfect book for a summer read and one I would recommend. 5 stars.
I really enjoyed the first story, but the other two didn't do anything for me. I just didn't really like the romance in the second one and the third one was written horribly. I liked the way the romance ended up, it just was so rushed and there was like zero development of their relationship. They just jumped into it and that was it.
Enticed by Stephanie Bond 4 stars Kimber Karlton's vacation isn't going as planned. She and her soon-to-be fiance were supposed to arrive to a remote island together, but instead, work sidetracked her and she is traveling alone...and it isn't an easy trip. Her travel agent sister hired Finn Meyers to help her get there, but he's more of a distraction than help! Steamy, but not burning read. Predictable, but fun.
Propositioned by Leslie Kelly 4 stars Liz left Boston to leave behind her cheating ex-husband and everything that reminds her of him. She's finally settled on the island paradise of St. Lucia. It has been 18 months and she's doing fine...then Jack Beaumont shows up and brings the past with him. Another steamy one. A bit more interesting than the first with the ties in from the past. Makes me want to go sailing in the Caribbean!
Fevered by Lori Wilde 3 1/2 stars Macy Gatwick goes after a story in Costa Rica about Armando Cutler. She acts the lost tourist to get her story. He's been betrayed by a woman before and not willing to let it happen again. Hmm...my least favorite of the 3 stories. It started out good, but just kinda fluttered through to the end. I'm a Lori Wilde fan, but this one was just okay.
I especially loved the second story by Leslie Kelly. The Lori Wilde and the Stephanie Bond stories were a little far-fetched, but hey, isn't that the point of these kind of books? I took this on to the beach with me and it was perfect. Read it in one day.
Quick little read. Surprisingly enjoyable for romance short stories... not always the most gripping reads. Of course I liked the Leslie Kelly story the best!
This is 3 short stories of romance. I am not a fan of short stories but thought I would give it a try. The stories were fast quick fall in love stories. It was okay but I appreciate more depth.
This book was just alright. It was a shorter read & it fits perfect into the summer weather. The stories were ok but they were the type where you know what is going to happen in the end.
