My first book was Murder Never Takes a Holiday by Jessica Fletcher & Donald Bains. This was really two books in one as it combined two of the Christmas Murder, She Wrote books. I chose this book because I have always been a fan of the TV show and I felt like reading a quick paced mystery. I loved these two books as separate pieces but having them together was sort of odd. There was a discrepancy between the two books that I'm sure was not intentional but still seemed rather off to me. The ...more

now i am hooked. This was such a great, easy and creative book. i was hooked after the first page.

The characters were easy to fall in love with and follow, along with the story. the author made the mental visions so easy and vivid of the surroundings and the characters actions felt so real.

i would highly recommend this author and this book.

This collection contains the two Christmas themed books in the Murder, She Wrote series. 'Manhattans and Murder' and 'A Little Yuletide Murder'. These were originally the second and eleventh books. Having never watched the show, I was not sure what to expect. Were these adaptations of tv episodes? Are they a continuation of the series? I even wondered, as Jessica Fletchers name was on the cover, if they were to be the books the character was "famous" for writing. It was quickly obvious it was ...more

Manhattans & Murder-This is the second book in the series and takes place in Manhattan, NY, hence the title. This mystery didn't grab me, with the exception of the twist in the center of it. This book has two Christmas mysteries in it, and it was the only copy of this mystery the library had, without having to get an interlibrary loan.

A Little Yuletide Murder-This is other holiday mystery in this book, the 11th mystery in this series, and better than the previous one. Now, I'm not a huge fan

I think this may have been the first time I have read a mystery by a fictional character. These two stories are based really well on the TV programme.

Both stories have enough twists and turns to keep the reader engaged and both have surprises in the end.

I'm guessing I only gave this a three out of love for the nights I spent with my mom, watching this show. It was okay writing but it took me forever to get through this book. Blergh. Oh well.
