I'm having a hard time rating this one. This an anthology with 3 short stories about shifters.

I read it because of the T.A. Chase story, "Understanding Forgiveness". It's the prequel to the installments of "Understanding the Past" that's running currently on the blog - http://www.tachase.blogspot.com/. Actually, it was my favorite of the three stories. I found the characters very interesting. There's a lot of world building going on though and not really much about the love story except their i

Of the three stories, that of T.A. Chase is the longer, but this not means that the other two are not worthy.

Understanding Forgiveness by T.A. Chase: Mason is a snow leopard shifter, makes into it from a nut scientist, who amuses himself creating all the genre of shapeshifter he could do. Heinrich is the son of the scientist, himself an expertiment of the madness of his father. Mason is not used to trust people, and when he meets Heinrich and the other shifters the man tries to help escaping the

This is an anthology of three shifting stories. I purchased it to read the T.A. Chase story which comes before one of her other books. I really enjoyed this story and would give it 4 stars. The second story in the anthology is much shorter and I was not able to get into it as much. I would give that story 2 stars. The third story was about a rat shifter who is trying to discover more about what he is and meets someone very important along the way. I enjoyed this story as well and would give it 3 ...more

The Rat Burglar by Emily Veinglory: ★★★★
[modern/urban fantasy / paranormal / mystery]
This was one of the most fascinating and unique shifter stories I've read, and I loved it. I would have given it 5-stars except that it ended with a cliffhanger and felt very much like it was just the first part of a much longer novel, which was really disappointing because the story was so damn good and I loved the characters.

I only read the first story in that anthology - Understanding Forgiveness from T.A. Chase :) because of second book in that series, and I liked this short prequel. I liked all the characters and I'm glad I can read the second book in this series.

There is beauty in every kind of love, so why not live a life without boundaries? Experiencing everything the world offers fascinates me and writing about the things that make each of us unique is how I share those insights. I live in the Midwest with a wonderful partner of thirteen years. When not writing, I’m watching movies, reading and living life to the fullest.
