A display of dog stories at the library led me to this book. At first I was disappointed in it -- it wasn't enough about the dog. Then as the the dog narrative became more prevalent, I became more interested. By the end, it was very satisfactory and I understand the author is working on a sequel - of which I might look into. (Elliott has to track down a very intelligent lab dog) -- Looked up author - wrote a sequel but not about the dog!
I enjoyed this quick romp. An easy read with a bit of sci- fi and intrigue. Some characters are likeable if flat and the plot unpredictable. Of course I'm a sucker for an intellegent dog and was hooked.
This was a great story. I gave it a five rating for the sheer enjoyment of the read. There are a couple of things that I found almost too convenient to maintain the direction of the story, but the characters are very likeable; particuarly Elliot Eliot.
This was an all right book - it certainly wasn't great, but it wasn't terrible either. It was well-plotted and rather unpredictable, but the action was slow-paced, the characters were stiff and unrealistic and the writing was average at best. Still, it was a solid premise - and, really, who can resist a dog story?
Interesting story of a wealthy man with selfish motives for supporting stem cell research. There are several twists and turns before the entire story unfolds. In my opinion the author's writing style lacks maturity and sophistication. It is a quick read.
